Global Solutions Manager

Created and oversaw the development of all service-oriented architecture (SOA) design patterns for the IBM Software group, including authoring The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) e-business patterns, resulting in these patterns being incorporated into the TOGAF e-business framework patterns. Established the 35-member enterprise-wide Global Solutions Offering team, which led the global Master Data Management (MDM) and Information/Application Integration Solutions Offerings practice areas for IBM. Team aligned business and IT strategies, and helped define end-to-end solutions for customers. Increased customer ROI and reduced incident reports by nearly 40% in year one.Architected an MDM solution for the New York City Police Department, creating a database enabling patrol cars to access information from local, state, and federal databases before they arrive at a crime scene. Pioneered the architecture of IBM’s flagship information management project, their first commercial SaaS product. Solution enabled small businesses to pay for services on a project basis, generated nearly $3.5 million in new revenue in the first quarter after release, and opened a new market segment for IBM. Designed first enterprise-wide Deal Tracking System (eDTS), enabling management to track deal pipeline in real time, allowing for proactive decision-making. Projected cost savings of over $1.6 billion annually. Organized entire e-IT staff of approximately 50-53 architects responsible for enterprise planning, budgeting, and sourcing of staff.Architected enterprise Commercial Data Warehouse (CDW), enabling all GE businesses to share customer data. Piloted business process re-engineering programs, resulting in re-engineering of several terabytes of consumer information for new corporate billing and card services processes. Exercised Six Sigma methodology to define GE’s initial e-commerce technical plans, and to standardize GE’s technology stack, utilizing assessment frameworks, enterprise planning tools, and standard approaches, allowing for shorter implementation timelines.Worked with the CIO to lead and architect the first GE Capital Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) at GE Small Business . Developed the first autonomously controlled satellite navigation system in software for several classified DOD/NASA satellite projects. System is still in use on GPS satellites. Awarded patent #4,705,945, Narcissus Correction, for scanning infrared microscopes and sensors for use in satellite navigation and Air Force F16 FLIR (Forward Looking Infrared Radar).
