Career Experience:

Liberty Global (1) Manager, Mergers & Acquisitions

June 2011 to August 2012

Achieved an Outstanding Individual Performance Award within 6 months of joining the M&A team, within the same timeframe I took responsibility for running my own transactions

Worked on a variety of M&A projects within the cable television, media & telecommunications sectors, with deal size from $5m to $10billion+ companies

Evaluated opportunities across a diverse geographic base; from the Caribbean to Eastern Europe, with primary focus on Western Europe

Produced analysis and presentations for key decision panels within LGI (Investment Committee, Board meetings, CEO). My analysis and recommendations directly led to:

Accepting an offer for a $100m+ Business Unit at the price my analysis suggested

Making offers on multiple targets

Walking away from existing ongoing projects

Built and developed the business plan for a $600m target entity that was successfully acquired in June 2011. This required efficient sorting of the target's trial balance (> 1,300 account lines) and converting into a Business Case. The acquisition plan I originated is now company Long Range Plan

Conducted reviews of business plans for a wide variety of potential targets, coaching local teams and corporate strategy department with regards to modelling and presentation

Conducted valuation analysis for opportunities, applying wide range of valuation techniques, including maintaining group impact analysis model

Coordinated and drove processes on a daily basis, including;

Management of due diligence and all documentation preparation

Management of all internal resources and external advisors as required for each deal

Structuring and management of deals and subsequent negotiating positions - including negotiation of extremely favourable and unusual terms surrounding the transaction for a distressed target

Produced and coordinated marketing materials for potential disposals including market and competitor analysis, economic/country overviews as well as company performance, strategy and outlook

Prepared additional materials on an ad hoc basis, including co-ordinating training materials for non M&A executives and presentations for industry summits

Conducted modelling and forecasting for initiatives, including commercial appraisal of projects

Responsible for day-to-day management, coaching and training of management trainee in M&A team

Liberty Global (1)

Manager, Financial Planning

October 2006 to June 2011

Promoted to Manager end 2010, prior to this I worked as Analyst within Financial Planning

Achieved highest performance rating in department for two consecutive years (2009-2010)

Responsible for development, maintenance and presentation of group liquidity Long Range Plan. Working with the major stakeholders (c. 10 divisions within the group, as well as strategy, treasury and tax departments) to model the group's cashflows over a forecast period of 10 years

Preparation of liquidity section for the group's ratings agency presentations: In 2009 we achieved a ratings upgrade from both S&P and Moody's despite the unfavourable economic climate

Implemented the first complete review of group's foreign exchange risk, coordinating results with treasury department and senior management for effective foreign exchange risk management

Responsible for preparation and analysis of liquidity information required for monthly scorecard

Developed time efficient adjusted budget and prior year rebased liquidity models that could be easily maintained outside of an accounting system (due to the limitations of the accounting system)

Co-ordinated reviews of group working capital performance

Review of bank covenant reporting and responsible for forecast leverage analysis

The role required use of both US GAAP and IFRS

The team was created in 2005, giving me the opportunity to help set up of new projects and processes and to influence our approach. Working in a new department meant I had to be pro-active in building contacts and building credibility with our key stakeholders

Responsible for day-to-day management, coaching and training of management trainee
