I have over twenty years of diversified experience in Information Technology including
complete lifecycle of many development projects. My primary areas of expertise are
application architecture, EAI, data modeling, Object Oriented Analysis and Design,
distributed multi-tier systems design using J2EE and .Net Framework. I have extensive
background in IBM legacy systems and have a well-rounded enterprise system architecture
view. I have provided technical architecture and project management leadership on many
large IT projects, both in-house and outsourced.
I also have extensive experience in maintaining internal and external customer
relationship in a technical consulting capacity. I have participated in several due
diligence evaluations of technology companies. I was part of the Application Development &
Integration (AD&I) national leadership team at Arthur Andersen, where I was responsible
for setting up and managing the Digital Market / eProcurement practice within AD&I. My
responsibilities included managing part of the AD&I budget encompassing activities such as
recruiting, knowledge management, mentoring and providing technical guidance for many

RFID Product Development Current
I am the lead architect and developer on this project developing a RFID based Asset
Tracking System and Smart Shelf System using Microsoft .Net framework. The development is
targeted towards hospitals and other healthcare facilities and utilizes both HF and UHF
tags and corresponding readers including reader for HP iPAQ PDA. The solutions include
asset tracking and Smart Shelf System for distribution of high-end consumables.
GTECH CorporationConsultant (March 2003June 2004
)
I worked as a
Systems Architect. My duties included evaluation of technical products,
building proof-of-concept using technology to further GTECH s core business as well as to
discover new opportunities, assess application infrastructure needs and provide input to
project managers throughout the project lifecycle.
I was the lead architect working with the Government Services Platform team developing a
new Hunting & Fishing license system. I made extensive use of the Tibco BPM suite to
architect solutions. The solution components included a J2EE application along with Tibco
JMS and the BPM products and a commercial Rules Engine. I prototyped various techniques to
integrate the J2EE components and Tibco InConcert and Integration Manager products,
working with Tibco engineers. I did extensive analysis of the satellite network needs for
the new system including ways to optimize the bandwidth used by client software installed
at more than 480 retail locations.
I also worked with a large lottery implementation / upgrade project dealing with many
integration issues.

I worked as a
Systems Engineer team lead on this WebSphere Portal and Interwoven Content
Management development project. My job responsibilities included development of project
specific standards, design and implementation of various system environments, software
configuration management procedures and technical architecture at a program management
level. The technology components included IBM WebSphere Portal 4.0.3, DB2, Oracle,
WebSphere Application Developer, SecureWay LDAP, Tivoli Access Manager, Interwoven
TeamSite and other Content Management solution components.
Arthur Andersen19982002Senior Architect
Oracle 9iAS Evaluation:
I led a group of developers to analyze the Oracle 9iAS offerings especially the Oracle
Portal, the J2EE container and the Jdeveloper. The team developed a small application (20
JSPs, 10 EJBs, 4 servlets) to test-drive different parts of the J2EE container. Portal was
tested by developing Java based portlets and Java code supporting Single Sign On.
Client: Plastics Industry Digital Market
The project was an Ariba Marketplace implementation involving a large customization
effort in a multi-vendor setup. The client needed some core changes to the Ariba Java
architecture including modifications to the J2EE components and the Oracle database. The
marketplace was backed by some of the large manufacturers in the chemical industry and it
used CIDX (Chemical Industry Data Exchange) messaging standards to exchange machine-to-
machine transactions between buyers and seller ERPs. I was the chief technical architect
on this project. My job responsibilities included functional design, technical design,
technical project management and client communication.
Client: Big 5 Consulting Firm
I was part of a small team charged with developing a generic eBusiness application
development methodology for internal use by the consulting company. At the conclusion of
that effort I adapted the methodology to meet specific needs of Electronic Procurement
projects. The methodology content included activities ranging from strategic sourcing,
business and technical requirements, staffing suggestions, technical design and
development, testing through deployment. The technology portion utilized the Rational
Unified Process as its basis.
Client: Big 5 Consulting Firm
I was the technical project manager and an applications architect on this eight-month
long project which consisted of developing a suite of custom made web based applications
using Microsoft technologies (Visual Basic, Active Server Pages, Visual C++, IIS, MTS),
large Java applet based components (including HTTP tunnelling) and SQL Server 7 database.
The purpose of these applications was to create a Balanced Scorecard capability that can
be used as a tool in Performance Management area within an organization. My
responsibilities included design, supervision of sub-contractor company and integration of
a Java based reporting system with the Balanced Scorecard system. The project management
duties involved complete life cycle of development and day-to-day guidance and supervision
of a team of 7-8 developers.
Advisory Role in eCommerce Applications:
I was involved in many eCommerce applications, typically implemented using Java, in an
advisory role. The role included system architecture evaluation, detecting single points
of failure, program design etc.
Client: Large Debt Collection Service
This custom application was developed in concert with a sophisticated telephony
application that allowed the collectors to combine Customer Relationship Management and
complex workflow management functionality. This was a strategic project for the client to
grow their own business as well as to use the new system as a tool to win and run
outsourced collections from other companies. I was the Application Systems Architect on
this 8 + million client engagement building a custom application for a debt collection
business on the West Coast. The project used Visual Basic, C, Informix 4GL. Additionally,
a large number of existing and new background processes were integrated into the
application via an Informix database.

Bellsouth Long Distance1997 -1998 as Consultant
Architected and developed a multi-tier Internet application for BellSouth Long Distance
Calling Card Fraud Center. The system used Oracle 7.3 database, PowerBuilder 6.0
application server and Netscape Enterprise server on a HP/UX platform.
Worked as an architect and project lead designing, developing and managing implementation
of a customer billing system for wholesale customers of a large telecommunications company
entering into the Long Distance market. The system was written using C++ on HP/UX platform
using Oracle database and PowerBuilder front end client on Windows platform. The system
used Oracle s OCI, Developer 2000 reports and tight real time integration between the
client and the server components.
GTE Cellular Phone Division
1996 - 1997 as Consultant
I developed a commission calculation and reporting system for the cellular phone sales
team at this company. The system used a Sybase System 10 database and PowerBuilder
clients. Sybase s Transact SQL was used extensively to implement the business logic.
GE Capital Audio Visual Equipment Rental
1995 - 1996as Consultant
I developed and led a team of functional and technical consultants in this custom
development project that allowed a very large diversified conglomerate to scale up this
business rapidly. The system was designed to allow large event planning, rule based
selection of equipment, customer support, order filling and order consolidation and
accounting interfaces. The technology used included Oracle database and PowerBuilder
application.
Confederation Life Insurance Company19891995 as Consultant
I developed account reconciliation system for the insurance company, using PowerBuilder,
Sybase System 10 database and C++ dlls. I worked as a technical lead on a large multi-year
project implementing and enhancing the Client Contract Administration system. I also
developed a system to interface the IBM mainframe and client workstations using screen
scraping technique.
Georgia Baptist Medical Center1987 - 1989 as Consultant
I developed and maintained a complex Order Management system for the hospital. The system
tied together many applications running on diverse hardware platforms and allowed a
unified view to doctors, nurses, pharmacists, radiologists etc. I also developed DB2 based
4GL data extract, load and reporting.
Dyer Wells & Associates 1986 1987 as Consultant
I worked on a life insurance claims systems as a lead developer. The system was developed
using IBM mainframe, CICS, VSAM and IMS database. I was also responsible for conversion
of claims data from many different legacy systems to the new format.

I was a team member of a small team that developed the bank s system interfaces for the
Georgia statewide Avail network. Responsibilities included writing code in IBM 370
Assembly language for a CICS / VSAM based system. Other work involved various smaller
projects within the bank.

I was a developer in the healthcare claims system group and a lead developer. Technology
