For DOD client, managed and participated in application development of a web-based on-line document management site providing the ability to interactively query textual information to locate and view client documents, presentations and movie clips. Involvement included performing systems analysis and directing technical strategies for accomplishing the development objective. The system incorporated commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software enhanced with customized programs to augment the existing manual client environment.

For government client, worked as a key member of the Participant Records Information and Management System project to develop a system to migrate from an existing IBM mainframe environment to a client-server environment, identifying and integrating both COTS and custom-built application to achieve the migration goal. Managed efforts including: development and preparation of system presentations to government user representatives; leading workshop sessions to identify and re-engineer client business processes; system requirements analysis; application development; application testing and review to ensure correctness and adherence to standards; coordinating training efforts, performing system training; and developing documentation at all levels of the development life-cycle. In addition, acted as the client contact for both technical and user system support.

Simultaneously held positions as a Computer Systems Manager and as a Systems Analyst. Computer Systems Manager responsibilities included managing Perkin Elmer minicomputers. This included systems installations, backups, upgrades as well as user training and scheduling. In Systems Analyst duties, participated in the development of an integrated database for the Navy using Oracle RDBMS. Also participated in the analysis and development of a shipboard data system. This development effort used Yourdon and DeMarco structured life-cycle analysis and development methodologies.
