OBJECTIVE Obtain key and challenging role with a strong engineering team where I can utilize my mechanical engineering design skills and experience while contributing organization’s growth via introducing new products and continuous improvement of the existing ones.
HIGHLIGHTS I am a skilled mechanical design engineer with extensive experience in design for manufacturing with track record of designing parts, components and assemblies for exhaust products. I’m self-motivated, self-starter and team player. My analytical and problem solving skills enabled me to design practical and cost effective solutions in a timely manner. Additionally, I have excellent communications and interpersonal skills, allowing me to serve as an effective team member.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEMS - Thornhill, Ontario Designer & Project Lead - Application Engineering 2010 - 2012
Heater Base Project
This sub-assembly is the inlet part of an electrically regenerated diesel particulate filter. The goal of the project was to implement make vs. source strategy and to relocate the entire production line to Thornhill location while adapting manufacturing capabilities.I redesigned the complete line of various Heater Bases sizes for diesel filtersWorked together with the engineering team in design optimization of flow distribution & pressure drop for numerous product assembliesCollaborated in sourcing of purchased parts and assemblies from local suppliers, obtained quotes and recommended vendorsParticipated in the design of assembling and welding fixtures and jigs for Heater Bases My contribution resulted in total annual savings of $120k
Passive Diesel Particulate Filter Project
The goal of the project was to create the full product line of a Passive Particulate Filter system for On-Road applications. The highlights of this task included but not limited to:Designed all DOC and DPF sub-assemblies utilizing calculated mat mounting gap, sensors’ ports and mounting brackets Designed unidirectional components to prevent incorrect assembling of unitsDeveloped the jig for assembling the flanges utilizing toggle clamps and machined blocks for locating components
Vertical Outlet Top Hat Project
The goal of the project was to develop the Outlet Top Hat of Diesel Particulate Filter with waterproofing, exhaust temperature dilution and segments retention under catastrophic failure conditions.
I successfully completed the task utilizing design modeling parameters and liaison the validation testing throughout the optimization steps.
