DELAWARE COUNTY EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES, Delaware, Ohio * 2005-Present

The primary emergency medical provider for over 162,000 residents of Delaware County.

Lieutenant

Supervise staff and personnel involved in administering emergency medical care. Oversee office administrative activities including scheduling, tracking performance, completing detailed run reports and daily paperwork, monitoring crew members` documentation for accuracy, and performing annual evaluations. Review squad inventory throughout shift and conduct ongoing assessments of EMS stations, vehicles, and equipment at each station and hospital. Maintain respiratory protection program for all Delaware County personnel and other agencies and conduct continuing medical education programs as requested.

* Pioneered establishment of a respiratory protection program in compliance with OSHA 1910 standards that currently services all county government and other public agencies within Delaware County.

* Developed the Field Training Officer corps and ensured fine tuning of the program to maintain a consistently high quality of training for new employees.

* Developed OSHA training programs for other county agencies.

* Developed safety programs in accordance with OSHA, NIOSH, PERP and EPA standards.

COLUMBUS ZOO AND AQUARIUM, Powell, Ohio * 2008-Present

A 600 acre Zoological park voted the #1 Zoo in America by American Travel group.

EMS Supervisor

Ensure optimum level of first aide and emergency care to visitors of the Zoo in compliance with approved EMS protocol. Administer budget of $80K and supervise 30 emergency medical technicians and Paramedics and all aspects of daily EMS operations including visitor education, safety surveillance, scheduling, staff training and preparation of weekly/monthly incident reports. Oversee recruitment, hiring, training, and retention of personnel. Develop and maintain standard operating policies and ensure quality standards via a CQI program. Field and respond to inquiries and complaints from guests. Attend safety committee meetings and safety briefings with senior staff. Partner with Animal Health to develop an Advanced Cardiac Life Support program for primates.

* Established the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium EMS system to full Advanced Life Support status.

* Oversaw a decrease in safety related incidents and total liability claims that saved the Zoo $300K in 2009.

* Facilitated hiring of a medical director, the purchase of cardiac monitors, implementation of an electronic patient care reporting system, implementation of an electronic scheduling program, and development of a medication control program.

* EMS oversight also includes Zoombezi Bay Amusement Park and Jungle Jacks Landing Amusement Centre.

NORTHERN UNION COUNTY FIRE AND EMS, Richwood, Ohio * 2009-Present

Serves residents and visitors in the northern sector of Union County with fire protection and EMS.

Firefighter / Paramedic / Fire Safety Inspector / Community CPR Lead Instructor

Supervise staff involved with emergency medical care and fire ground activities including monitoring performance and training personnel. Complete documentation and develop reports for emergency medical and fire related calls. Review condition of station, vehicles, and equipment. Interface with local agencies to provide support for emergency medical care and other programs extending to attending meetings, conferences, workshops, training sessions, and performing diverse public relations duties.
