ACADEMIC PROJECTS:eBusiness based website design:

This was my project for my third year Web design course. I implemented a working online Bookstore, which was designed using MS Web Essentials. Coded using XML, CSS and PHP and using a MySQL database to store the information of user accounts and stock of books and orders. The website is composed of several structures; it consists of an in-depth account registration page, password retrieval service. The book store works using a Cart based strategy where users can browse books through a catalog based on their preferred search criteria and select their book of choice and add it to cart and advance into a payment page, which involves third party affiliates such as PayPal.

XML Query Processing in P2P:

This was my research project in my final year of graduation. The topic was about incorporating XML Query such as XQuery or XPath to improve the P2P Network processing speeds. In this project I discussed in-depth about the various P2P networks in the market today based on 3 categories like structured, unstructured and super peer. Then discuss the different types of schemas associated with these P2P networks and identify similarities with these schemas with schemas based on XML tree structures. After the identification of similarities I used to 2 different articles, one which talked about various XML Query Algebra and the other XML caching techniques, combined these two techniques together with XQuery to develop a combined algorithm that improves the performance of unstructured P2P networks significantly, these performance increases were displayed using a P2P simulator.
