As a licensed practicing physician who has studied the depth psychology of Carl Jung extensively, Dr. Bowen writes and offers public speaking, lectures, seminars and workshops. She also consults with individuals and with groups. The aims of depth psychology are to promote well being, expand happiness, deepen inner development, strengthen constructive resilience, deal effectively with stress, and to flourish. Consulting is usually done on a weekly, twice monthly, or monthly basis. Some individuals consult on an ongoing basis; others do so on an episodic basis. Some are local and some are global, by telephone or Skype. Common concerns are to find meaning in acute or chronic suffering, to learn effective ways of dealing with crises and traumas such as major illnesses, injuries, and deaths. For Jungian-oriented individuals, access to the unconscious through dreams, active imagination, and other creative processes offers valuable insights to enhance our inner lives and to empower each one of us to be optimally effective.

Dr. Bowen studied Jungian psychology full time at the International School for Analytical Psychology, Zurich, Switzerland. She continues to collaborate with patients, physicians, psychologists, writers, and students in the Jungian psychology community globally. She also participates in Jungian meetings at the local, national, and international levels and is an active member of the Jung Society of Atlanta.
