VICE PRESIDENT/PRINCIPAL

CANAM ELECTRIC, INC., Boynton Beach, FL June 2004 - November 2011

* Provided services primarily in South Florida, with up to 250 employees and $16M in annual revenue. Specialized in new large LEED and renovation commercial, industrial and institutional construction; also specialized in energy controls, energy efficiency retrofit projects and renewable energy generation.

* Procured all new projects and oversaw estimating, sales and marketing and customer relations.

* Developed budgets for customers, managed design build and design participation, and negotiated projects.

* Reviewed estimates with the Chief Estimator, reviewed and generated new estimating procedures, and upon award of projects, reviewed subcontracts, schedules and turned over projects to the Operations Department.

Key Achievement: In June of 2004, JME Electric, Inc. was sold to Canam Electric, Inc. and I was invited to remain on board as Vice President and eventually made a partner in the company as a result of consistent achievements.

Performed a broad range of duties in multiple positions, including Project Manager, Safety Chairman and President/Owner.

* Oversaw project/branch management and administration, contract review/negotiations, purchasing, scheduling, maintaining budgetary controls, managing receivables and payables, providing sales and marketing, coordinating with general contractors and various subcontractors, supervising over 80 employees and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

* Upon award of a project, re-estimated the job, purchased major lots, negotiated with sub-subcontractors, coordinated work for installation with the General Contractor.

* Updated job progress, schedules, budgets and forecasting reports. Produced and procured change orders with general contractors and/or A/E firms.

Key Achievement: The prerequisite for the Project Manager position was to run a project in the field as a Superintendent. I successfully completed a very large renovation of a High School that was recognized as one of the most profitable projects in the history of the company.

PROJECT MANAGER

ANECO ELECTRIC, INC., Medley, FL February 1990 - November 1990

* Worked at an on-site office for a 32 story condominium that was well under construction.

* Supervised, coordinated and managed the project, including assessing previously completed projects, troubleshooting issues and recommending solutions to reinstate project schedule.

* Tracked and coordinated major lot purchases, negotiated with sub-subcontractors, coordinated work for installation with the General Contractor. Updated job progress, schedules, budgets and forecasting reports.

* Procured change orders with the General Contractor.

CONSTRUCTION/BRANCH MANAGER

BELCO SOUTH, INC., Pompano Beach, FL April 1981 - February 1990

Key Achievement: Initially hired as an Electrician for this national electrical contractor, which specialized in commercial, industrial and institutional construction. Performed successfully in a variety of progressively responsible positions, which included Foreman, Field Supervisor, Project Manager, Branch Safety Chairman and ultimately received a promotion to Construction Manager.
