MAJOR PROJECTS UNDERTAKEN

.Sansparsh

Developing a switching OS tablet computer with high processing power using Pandaboard.

The operating systems can be switched among Android, Chrome and Ubuntu on the run and

smoothly runs high computing tasks. The tablet includes two ARM Cortex-A9 cores and

provides advanced features like Ethernet, WiFi, Bluetooth, audio in/out and external

display connectivity.

The pharmaceutical industry in India has tremendously grown in recent years but the

health monitoring and availing health care couldn t catch up this growth. Huge mass still

does not get medical treatment and regular checkups. A cost effective and scalable

solution is thus needed. Therefore, we have designed a prototype of health monitoring

wristlet which can monitor temperature and pulse rate at regular intervals and store it

into a memory card. This data would be analyzed by the physician during checkup. Specific

software can then crunch the large amount of data collected to produce statistical results

related to health problems.

.Akshansh

To keep track of the endangering wildlife in India, we developed a prototype Wild Life

Tracking system. The system uses the traditional RF-tags to track an animal. The tag would

send the location, temperature and humidity of an animal to the nearby GSM tower and then

the data would be collected at a central node where a FAT approach based file system would

keep all the records maintained to further analyze this data.

.JalTarang

I belong to the state of Rajasthan where water and electricity are scarce resources. The

average temperature in summers reaches to 47 degree Celsius and desert coolers are used in

households, government offices and various dormitories. These coolers use water to drench

the duct-pads through which air is suctioned using a fan. This air then cools down the

rooms. These desert coolers make the rooms excessively humid which is usually undesirable.

We designed a moisture balancer circuit which controls the water pump in these desert

coolers so that duct-pads never become excessively wet or dry. Switching the pump off

saves both electricity and water. In an average summer day this system can save 20-25

percent water and 10-15 percent electricity than usual.

.Samvad

The academic schedule and news are usually displayed on a notice board in academic

institutes and public offices. Large amount of paper and man power goes in waste in this

process. As a solution to this problem we came up with the solution of E-News where an

electronic LED display would show the latest news. We developed a prototype system that

can send updated news to these LED displays. The LED displays can be replaced by E-readers

which can operate using solar cells. This would save electricity and give a more natural

experience for the readers. E-readers would also support WiFi connectivity to update the

news even from outside the institute.

.WebCoder

Webcoder is a J2SE based real-time online programming application created with the help

of Netbeans. This application offers an opportunity for the people around the world to

come together as a team and participate in the web based programming contests. Team

binding ensures providing login only to the team members and audio messenger allow the

team members to communicate during this process.
