Experience
Worked for Avery Dennison (Monarch Marketing) for 6 years.
At Avery Dennison I had training in many fields. I started out in the Kit Packing area where I put kit's together that contained labels and a pricing gun. I did this for a year, and then was hired on full time as a Custom Printing Press Operator where I did custom jobs printing labels. These are small jobs for smaller companies. I did that for three months. Next, I went to be a Packer and Slitter Operator where I packed rolls of labels and ran a slitter that cut the labels and glued them onto cores. I did that for about two years. My next training was on a Turret, where I learned how to change slitting knives and glue wheels and core alignment. I had to do the complete set up on my own, where on the slitter I had a job setter set everything for me. The turret operator also made case labels, labeled cases, packed finished rolls of labels and moved finished jobs to shipping.(in computer) I did this for about eighteen months. Then finally ended on a four color printing press. On this press I ran bigger jobs for bigger companies like Wal-Mart, JC Penny, Office Depot, Bed, Bath and Beyond and many other big name companies. I had to do color matching, printing plate cutting, plate mounting and quality checks on these jobs. I did this for fifteen months when I quit to move to Kentucky to live with my husband who had been working here for about one year.
