Responsibilities included improving, implementing new features, and maintaining existing

Netflix non-member and account related site pages for new and existing US customers.

Design and technical lead for launching Netflix non-member and account experience in

Canada last year (July 2010).

Coordinating with Java and backend engineers to move Netflix non-member and account site

and tools to Amazon Cloud (simple DB, S3).

Reimplemented all pages to remove table based markup. New site is implemented using

tableless layout, standard and SEO friendly markup using HTML5 and CSS3 to support broad

rage of browsers.

Architect, developed and launched highly scalable non-member Netflix site from scratch to

support internationalization and localization. Specified, designed and implemented a CMS

like web application to built and update Netflix non-member site pages off-cycle without

deploying new build.

Built a tool to map URLs path to Java Servlet and enable/disable URLs per country

dynamically.

Initiated plan to convert all structured data like Movie and TV shows to schema.org

specification.

Other responsibilities included to define best front-end practice, helping and providing

guidance to other team member getting up to date with frontend, performance optimization,

helping QA with automation, etc.

October 2005 - March 2010

Successfully implemented last two Yahoo! Front-Page design.

Collaborated with UI designers, Project managers and Director to design new Yahoo Page.

Responsible for site architecture, usability, accessibility and the maintenance of the

site.

Mentor and helped junior members of the Front-end team.

Implemented and tested more than 50+ design to provide better experience to Yahoo! users.

Reduce the load time of the Y! Front-Page (codename spirit) to 2.3 seconds for broadband

Implemented search auto-complete (suggestions).

Created and tested multiple search treatment and implemented successful search design

that increased search by 1% on the FrontPage.

Implemented a window shade (an animated panel) to notify users about new features and

Designed and developed cross-browser table-less Intranet Website layout and implemented

Designed and wrote web based Promotional Tool for intranet using Java. Promotional Tool

allows a user to transfer files from Development Server to Production Server.

Integrated a Promotional Tool with a database (Oracle 8.0) to record and update

properties of files on both development and production servers.

Participated in the migration of two different web based department resources into one GM

E-Project Development.

Assisted in design and development of web-based helpdesk for GM intranet.
