PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

DSB Custom Clothing, October 2011 to Present.

I work directly with a custom clothing factory so I could establish a value that was affordable to 32% of the market, like off the rack prices, but a true 25 measurement Custom Suit. I also carry sport coats, shirts, and more. Any extras you may want are free which is incredible. I am getting out a web site this week so the story is told and you don't have to pay $1995 to $2495 to have custom clothing in your closet. It's a lot of phone calling, but many a "warm" phone calls because I owned and operated 4 stores listed below, where I spent 27 years. My business is off to a good start and it's the kind of business that snowballs. I also just put up a website and I will advertise that as well. I could make up to $100,000 in my first fiscal year. When I'm busy I'm at my best and I have a true passion for the work I do.

Nordstroms Mens Store Cincinnati, Ohio * October, 2009-July; 2011

I wanted to see what Nordstrom was offering and seeing what my chances of advancement were. Could they meet my experience, commensurate with my resume

I got hired in Men's Clothing and Accessories (Two thousand applied & 200 were hired). The manager was asking me questions (for his own knowledge) about the name of fabrics and colors as they weren't clearly trained in the basics: I couldn't believe that people were put in positions they weren't qualified for, but that's how they I conducted hiring. The management couldn't do the things requested of them because they were never trained in the first place. Clearly there was no room for advancement here as well. When they asked me what I thought of their management style, I told them it had some serious flaws as people were quitting left and right and they were neither fair nor equitable, and that's when I told them I was leaving. While I was there, I did 155% of my goal and I received many letters of praise from customers, more than anyone else in the store. Selling is truly a passion of mine.

Saks Fifth Ave ; Cincinnati, OH * February, 2008-October, 2009

Hired by a Senior VP from the New York Office. He knew me and about my experience and called the Cincinnati store and told them to hire me. He said I would need 3-4 months on the floor to learn the Saks way of doing business. He would then find me a position that was commensurate with my resume and better utilized my skill set. It was a good store and I enjoyed learning about other businesses. I really just worked the floor to learn the business; however, I received about 7 letters from customers and had a high rate of sale per transaction. When the economy hit the bottom they began to lay off people and reduce salaries. My contact in New York, called me to let me know there was nothing he could do right now to fulfill his promises. I was extremely disappointed; however, I understood the situation. I tried other jobs as you can see, but being in a position of authority is what I was looking for as I feel I have more to offer running a sales floor or overseeing a group of stores. So, I gave them my notice. They tried to get me to stay, however, it was too late.
