Advising two students who are developing and validating a model of carbon corrosion in
PEMFC operating with a dead-ended anode. Supervising two students pursuing lithium
ion battery research, cell balancing and thermal modeling. Responsible for commissioning
a
new battery testing lab to study state of charge estimation and balancing control
algorithms
for lithium ion cells.
Research Assistant2005{2010Fuel Cell Control Laboratory University of Michigan, Ann Arbor
Responsible for installation and operation of a proton exchange membrane fuel cell test
station and data acquisition system. Research interests include: modeling and control of
fuel cell systems as alternative energy sources for automotive, grid-connected and
portable
power generation applications; model-based control for real-time hardware implementation;
and fundamental limitations of fuel cell power sources arising from fuel cell breathing,
reactant dynamics and water management.

Teaching the use of electrical and thermal model based simulation tools (Comsol and
Matlab
Simulink) to aid in the design of the battery pack for Quantum. Supervising testing of
the
high-voltage battery pack in the Powertrain Control Laboratory using a Bitrode cycler and
thermal chamber to simulate race conditions. Advising the team on development of State
of Charge estimation algorithms for on-board diagnostics, safety, and cell balancing.

technology, hydrogen fueling infrastructure, and potential benefits & barriers to the use
of
hydrogen as a vehicular fuel. Emphasis is placed upon system-level modeling and control
issues of polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells and on the principles and design of on-
board hydrogen storage systems.

control systems engineer in the Advanced Technology Group. Developed
controller I/O specifications for a new core aircraft engine design. QNX Development for
a
pc-104 based real-time data acquisition system.

Worked as a
contractor for NASA SMEX03 (Soil Moisture Experiments). Responsible for
installation, operation, and maintenance of an aircraft mounted radiometer and data ac-
quisition system. Developed, programmed, and tested user interface for a re-programmable
radar control board. Analyzed experimental radar data using IDL.
