cabinets which are used in custom built paper converting machines.

Checked and filled oil on a daily basis on ships four 3500 HP General

Motors Electro Motive Division (EMD) diesel engines. Recorded temperature

and pressure gauges as needed for engineering logs. Was responsible for

cleaning and painting machinery spaces and all machinery in assigned

spaces. Assisted the chief engineer and assistant engineer in doing daily

maintenance and repairs to ship equipment. Alternated as both gate

operator and conveyor operator during ship cargo offloads.

Identified major problem with boiler over fire air control. Repair

greatly increased boiler efficiency. Created new plant procedures to

be followed in place of plant boiler emergency. Redesigned several safety

guards enhancing sawmill efficiency and safety.

Designed a new system to track equipment down time by department. System

greatly enhanced maintenance department's ability to conduct root cause

analysis and fix several long term problems. Established an effective

lockout program which addressed individual lockout procedures for

equipment. The new procedures brought Superior Kilns into compliance with

present OSHA lockout regulations. Identified and labeled every major piece

of equipment to show exactly where that piece of equipment receives its

power. Initiated new after shift electrical shutdown procedures which cut

non production electrical usage by more than 40% . Introduced a root cause

analysis strategy to control a boiler water carry over problem.
