CODING PROJECTS

1. Home thermostat system:

• Coded and implemented in Java.

• Platform used: Linux

• IDE: Eclipse

• Output: The thermostat allowed to control temperatures in homes and provides functionality to

choose the temperature, choose the duration for which it is to be maintained and display the

temperature.

2. GUI-based Tour Booking System

• Coded and implemented in Java.

• Platform used: Linux

• IDE: Eclipse

• Output: A GUI to allow booking for 2-week tour packages to various tourist spots in the

world.The functionality provided includes making airline, hotel and local transportation

reservations for individuals or more than one person. The system also allows to retrieve any

booking by means of a confirmation number generated during tour booking.

3. Unix shell project

• Designed a shell in C language

• Platform: unix system

• Output: Implemented the functionality like exit, ls and ls -l within the shell using fork and

execvp system calls.

NETWORKING PROJECTS

1. Link Testing

• Aim: Testing and providing and empirical estimate of the channel capacity of a network link.

• Wrote and implemented test code using Socket programming.

• Output: Measured performance criteria such as data rate, latency and overall speed of the

network.

2. Unified network management of wired and wireless networks

A paper compiled for engineers, software professionals and students to provide enhanced

understanding of Unified Network Management. This paper provides an overview of unified

networks including architechture, deployment, security and multicasting features.
