Objectives
I have been in the field for over 15 years working on commercial HVAC
systems and take pride in my quality of work. I am looking for an opportunity to
work for a company that has similar values when it comes to doing quality high end
work. Throughout my career I have always continued my education whether it be in
controls, energy management, or remaining up to date when it comes to new
equipment and trade trends. It is very important to me to maintain the very highest
level of service. A place where I can both pass on my knowledge to others and help
them grow as well as continue my own education whether it be learning from co-
workers or continue my training through more traditional means. I am a very hard
worker and willing to do whatever it takes to help a company grow however I would
prefer to have my primary focus on commercial HVAC and high end built up
equipment and controls. I also believe that controls are the future especially as far
as energy management is concerned. My ideal job would be a position where I
would be able to pursue those interests when the time is right. I am now 38 years
old and am looking for an employer that I can remain with for the rest of my career
and grow with. I understand that these are difficult times and many companies are
struggling however I believe that my skills and quality work will be an asset to any
company. I am also very skilled in most aspects of this field but I believe what sets
me apart is my desire to learn any new aspects that may be required. With all of

Shea Mechanical - Over the last few years I have been working for myself as Shea
Mechanical and focusing on energy management consulting and a service and
repair technician. Although at times I have been able to have some success given
the current economic climate and my limited backing I have struggled and am
looking for consistent employment and a reliable income for myself and my family.
However I do have a unique understanding and knowledge of some energy
management solutions that I would be willing to bring to my new employer that I
believe could be very beneficial to my new employer.

●I have been a commercial HVAC technician for over 15 years and have experience
working on all types of equipment and built up systems. I have been working on controls
for the last 8 years and experience with multiple types of systems. I have been involved
with all phases of controls systems installations from creating proposals and designing
systems through installation and then commissioning systems. When designing control
systems energy management was always a major focus. I have also worked as an
energy management consultant for commercial properties and applying some principles
for residential properties. Over the last few years I have been focusing on energy
management focusing not only on the mechanical equipment but all aspects of a
property. I have spent many hours keeping up to date with different tools and types of
equipment to ensure that I can create unique cost effective energy management
solutions believing that making sure solutions are cost effective are essential. That is
something that I believe can only be done when using all the tools available and
customizing them to each different property. I have also worked on all types of built up
equipment including chillers, cooling towers and the chemical water treatment, hydronics
including VFD’s for both pumps and/or for fans, and have a good understanding of air
distribution. Over the years I have attended many different training courses and factory
training seminars including ABB variable frequency drives, Traulsen refrigeration,
different Honeywell controls, Novar control systems, Carrier controls, RayPak boiler
control and ignition systems, Belimo valves, different compressor seminars, as well as
multiple different manufacturer’s furnace controls courses, as well as many other misc.
training classes. Apart from classes I have always continued to keep myself up to date
and educated on new types of controls and equipment. I am also proficient in reading
blueprints and have experience in bidding jogs off of blueprints. I am a very well
rounded technician with experience running jobs and managing other employees. Given
all of my experience and continued education I believe that I am one of the premier
technicians in the area and very capable in almost every aspect of our trade including
training of other technicians. I have provided training in both the field and also in a
classroom setting.
●Aside from technical and mechanical skills I am also a friendly and very up front person
and I work well with customers of all types. I have worked with clients of all types
building owners, property management personnel, contractors, construction super-
intendants, and have also worked very closely with engineers during different aspects of
construction. I believe that my personality and work ethic also makes me a good leader
throughout any department. I believe in leading by example and making sure that co-
workers have all of the tool in order to succeed as well as a comfortable environment in
which they may ask questions and learn. I am also a good and supportive co-worker
that is not looking to take over any shop, just looking for a place where I can share my
experience and knowledge hopefully in an effort to prevent others from making some of
the mistakes I may have made. I am also computer literate and understand basic word
and excel functions and capabilities. Although I do not claim to be a computer expert I
do have a very good knowledge of many different programs.

Note: I currently do not have a valid driver’s license however I am working to get it
reinstated. I understand that this is a serious drawback however I am willing to do
whatever it takes in order to make things work. Without a valid license I understand
that it could be a significant obstacle and I will have to make the sacrifices needed until
I am able to rectify the situation. With that said I am no longer drinking and would
truly appreciate the opportunity to show what an asset I can be to your company. It
