Network Administrator. Responsible for the conversion process from our
current in house application to a new Windows based application. Installed
and configured a new Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard file server for a
Windows Based Software Application we recently purchased. Maintain the
installation and management tasks for the mixed Windows Server 2008 R2 and
Novell 6.5 server environment which includes but not limited to server
patches, user account setup, security and nightly system backups. Designed
and installed a Windows Virtual Server environment on the Windows 2008 R2
file server. Maintain the documentation for the Network design and hardware
configuration for all the equipment in the organization and where it is
located. Trouble-shoot hardware and software problems for 25 users both on
site and at remote locations. Install new hardware and software onto the
Network and remote PC's. Created a test plan for installation of Windows 7
into our current in-house environment using our in-house application and
third party applications. Work with outside organizations to install and
configure equipment for access to the internet for remote locations and the
main office. Handle the installation and configuration of the Cable/DSL
modems and routers along with Firewalls at the remote locations so they
could access the Network at the Main Office through a VPN connection.
Develop standards and maintain documentation on system configurations and
end user procedures. Make recommendations and purchases of new hardware and
software to help improve the day-to-day operations of the company. Upgrade
hardware and software as needed to stay current with changing technology.
Researched all hardware and software for Year 2000 compliance, planned and
organized all the Y2K testing for the entire company. Support a product
known as DataEase from both the database side and the development side.
Currently I am working with other departments on the installation and
testing of the new Windows based application we purchased to replace our
DOS based application. Hardware used includes: Cisco Managed Switches,
Cisco ASA 5505 equipment, Cisco Small Business Access Point, HP Hubs,
Netgear wired & wireless routers, Compaq, NEC, Hewlett Packard and Gateway
