Designed processes and managed construction/start-up of a $8MM facility in New Albany, OH

Privately Owned Manufacturer of Cleaning and Sanitation products, headquartered in Cleveland, OH.
Director of Manufacturing & Engineering
Reengineered facility and managed relocation of Production and Warehouse operations from Cleveland to
Hebron, Ohio. Successfully restarted operations within 10 days of decommissioning original facility.
Hired and trained 85 Associates for operation of the Hebron plant.
Directed all activities of Engineering, Maintenance, Production, and HSE departments for three facilities to
insure effective use of resources, including $3.5MM labor budget.
Designed processes and managed construction/start-up of a $2MM facility in Hebron to support SIP’s first
contract manufacturing venture.
Assisted in formation of the 79/70 Manufacturing Certification program with Licking County C-TEC to foster
industrial growth. Represented Licking County during presentation of training/hiring statistics at Ohio State
House to facilitate further funding of program. Hired new SIP Associates from this graduate pool.
ECOLAB, INC., Hebron, Ohio (1998-2009)
Fortune 500 leader in Production of Cleaning and Sanitation products, headquartered in St. Paul, MN.
Engineering & Reliability Manager (1998-2002, 2005-2009)
Managed all capital investments and reliability activities for a 200,000 sq/ft facility focused on manufacturing
and packaging 780+ cleaning and sanitation chemicals.
Engineered and managed projects and contractors focused on process improvements at facilities in Texas and
Georgia, totaling $0.5MM in 2008 and $1.5MM in 2007.
Coordinated construction of a $3MM expansion of the Noda, Japan manufacturing facility, with emphasis on
new mixing technology and controls. Installation was executed with Japanese contractors over 9 months.
Developed and implemented Ecolab’s first “Focus Factory,” dedicated to production and packaging of Floor
Waxes. A total of 3000+ batches were processed through this new system, with no quality issues.

Led large-scale DMAIC project to reduce waste water contamination by 70% and total effluent by 65%, which
eliminated fines/surcharges and brought the facility back into “compliance” with the local POTW.
Engineered $1MM capital project for robotic palletizing of ten production lines. Oversaw project approval,
design, plant layout, implementation and training. Installation downtime was 1 day.
Production Manager (2002-2005)
Directed all aspects of Production, including 70 mixing and packing Associates operating 14 lines over 3 shifts.
Formulated budgets and standards for 780+ sku’s annually

Implemented “pull” system to reduce work-in-process, effectively eliminating 6 hold tanks and improving

Senior Project Engineer
Implemented capital investments up to $10MM to solve plant problems identified during start-up, including
estimating, design, procurement, construction, commissioning and team management of Process Engineering,
Electrical Engineering, safety, environmental and subcontractors.
Facilitated expansion to the site as Assistant Project Manager to Japanese Director for one year during
construction and start-up of $60MM grassroots facility for FEP and ETFE fluoropolymers.
Trained operators and oversaw start-up of first DAI operating facility (Utilities) which included boilers,
wastewater treatment, firewater, incinerator, instrument air, and RO water.
