Responsibilities: for Technical Designer
• Prepare samples for fitting by measuring garments, crosschecking pattern, construction detail,
sample history and delivery timing.
• Be able to fit and correct garments in a fitting, analyze balance and proportion of fit, translate
those correction to patterns and/or comments evaluate specs, diagrams, mock ups or digital
photos.
• Organize and maintain date history (samples and patterns) to be easily referenced. Assures
seasonal deadlines are met for their category.
• Maintain block patterns and/or help to create new blocks in block library systems.
• Manage flow of information related to fit process, such as, track samples, update tech log, send fit
list, and communicate with factories, internal clients and overseas offices regarding fit
corrections.
• Work with patternmakers to ensure pattern corrections are completed.
• Make recommendations on garment construction that produces best results as well as
specification or workmanship issues to each factory.
• Follows up on e-mails from overseas office regarding comments on fit, construction, and
maintain design integrity.
• In addition flexible to the needs of the total department and handles other responsibilities and
projects, as assigned.
