Profile My key area of competency is Hyperion Tool Suite, which

is essentially a business intelligence software package.

I have an experience of 7.5 years in the IT industry,

working on this technical platform. During this tenure, I

have worked in Financial domain with different clients in

diverse sectors like Resource, Pharmaceutics and Retail.

This has enabled me to gain insight into the various

facets of Hyperion technology, right from gathering

requirements to designing, building and implementing core

applications. Effective client interaction while working

on new implementation projects has been one of my

strengths, while I have also enjoyed providing support

for maintenance of existing Hyperion Applications. I have

also managed team during the implementation projects as

well as the maintenance projects.

Project: Equifax Inc.

Assignment Description: Equifax Inc is migrating their

Version 4 Consolidation systems (HFM) to System 11.1.2.1

HFM and Essbase ASO solution.

Contribution: HFM and Essbase ASO version 11.1.2.1 will

replace their old and slow HFM application. I am

responsible to lead the implementation of the Essbase

solution. The ASO application is created in EPMA and is

sharing some dimensions with HFM. Actual data will flow

from the source systems to the ASO application. Forecast

functionalities are also incorporated in ASO along with

currency conversion and data-copy features.

April 2011 - Oct 2012

Project: Limited Brands Inc.

Assignment Description: Limited Brands is a family of

brands. Their brands include Victoria's Secret, Bath and

Body Works, Henri Brendel, La Senza, White Barn Candle

Company and C.O. Bigelow. These brands are extending much

further. They have 18 stand alone Essbase Cubes, 6

Planning Applications and one HFM application. The

forecasting and budgeting of these merchandises are done

with the help of these Hyperion tools.

Contribution: I had been working as a key resource for

the Hyperion Planning application enhancement projects. I

was responsible for gathering the requirements from the

client, provide an effort estimate, design and develop

the components and deploy in Production environment. This

also included writing the thorough illustration of the

process in the Detail Design Specs and the Admin document

along with the test cases for unit and integration

testing. Besides, I was also supporting the existing

Hyperion Planning applications. I was responsible to

interact with the Business Users, understand their issues

and provide solutions within the given SLA.

August 2009 - March 2011

Project: AstraZeneca CDA Project- a Sweden and UK based

company.

Assignment Description: AstraZeneca is a pharmaceutical

company. The planning and budgeting of the accounts data

along with the actual data consolidation was the main

focus of the CDA project. There were six Hyperion

Planning applications and two HFM applications which were

distributed among different teams. I was closely involved

with the implementation of four Hyperion Planning

applications. These applications dealt with the

forecasting of the accounts data based on the different

products and locations. The budgeting process ranged from

ten-years of concise plan to detailed monthly

forecasting. The applications also reported on the actual

data and the variances amongst the different forecast

cycles.

Contribution: I was involved in the CDA project from the

detailed design phase. I had delivered quality design and

the corresponding documentation of the entire detail

design phase for the four planning applications. I had

also gained experience in EPMA as well as version 11 and

querying in Hyperion Smartview. I had developed the

various components of the Planning Applications and

worked on the reusability of the same along with the Unit

testing and defect fixing of the developed components

during the Module Testing Phase.

Consultancy Services Limited (TCSL) for 3 years and 10

March 2009 - July 2009

Project: BARRICK Gold Corporation head quartered in

Toronto, CANADA. Various regional applications were

developed from the existing Corporate Application and all

were migrated from smaller box of memory to larger.

Work Description: Migration of various Planning and

Essbase Applications, Financial Reports. Establishing the

security of the regional applications along with the

corporate application. Implementing the Hot and Cold

backup of these applications.

Documentation: Documentation of the migrations steps,

security management and backup procedures were delivered

to the client for future reference before the completion

of the project.

High Coordination: Coordination between offshore (INDIA)

and client based in CANADA.

Trainings given: I have conducted training session to new

comers in the project.

Accomplishments

Single handedly conducting the migration and production

support of all the regional and corporate applications

running at different time zones.

Successfully implemented the Hot and Cold Backup of the

The resources I trained were absorbed in projects and are

earning revenue for the organization.

November 2005 - Feb2009

Project Background: ALCOA Inc, Pittsburgh. Various

Planning applications for forecasting and budgeting of

the corporate and regional applications. Essbase

applications for reporting on the Actual as well as the

Forecast data. Excel Add-in, Financial and Web Analysis

reports for Essbase and Relational reports for analysis

of the data loaded in the cubes. Shared Services for

centralized security and Performance Scorecard for goal

setting and evaluation of the manufactured products.

Planning Application Support: Enhancement and Support of

Corporate Application. Performing the Chart of Accounts

changes, closing of the forecast cycle, archiving of the

forecast and actual data. Implementation of three year

Plan in the corporate application. Developing scripts by

keeping the flexibility of feeding one/ two/ three

year(s) Plan data into the corporate application from the

regional applications. Coordination of the same with the

offshore team.

Upgrade Testing: Rigorous testing of the planning and

Essbase application, reports during the upgrade from

System 7 to System 9 and from System 9.2 to 9.3.

Redefining Security Structure: Narrowing down the

Planning and Essbase security from Business Groups to

Business Unit Level. Extensive testing before the

release.

Reporting Experience: Development of Web Analysis Essbase

Reports and Dashboards. Maintenance of Drill through and

Relational reports.

Implementing Performance Scorecard Application:

Development of a scorecard application for North America

location. Worked as the key developer of the application.

Responsible for the identification of key performance

indicators (KPI), input of the actual data, generation of

daily report showing the actual against the monthly

target and other decision making aspects like Period to

Date Target, Required Rate, Projected Actual, Score% etc.

Later, as the data increased in the application, it

became slower because the targets were calculated

dynamically. To increase the performance, an Essbase cube

was built with the KPIs, calendar dates, actual and

various targets to pre-calculate the data before it

entered the scorecard application.

Documentation: Documentation of the various works done to

streamline the process and reduce re-works.

High Coordination: Both working from offshore and onshore

required high coordination between the team mates. Being

an onsite coordination, I had to take the responsibility

of the work as well as delegate it to offshore peer to

increase the efficiency and productivity.
