• Test the repaired concrete beam and compare to original beam design.

PCI Beam Contest
• Helped with the fabrication of a pre cast concrete beam meeting certain criteria per rules, no
longer than 15 feet and at least 8 inches wide.
• Beam was designed for dead load and applied live load, load by single point at the middle.
• Reinforcing was done by pre stressing cables (steel strand) in the concrete beam.
• Load and mid span deflection of beam was measured and recorded.
• Several tests were done to calculate the highest load capacity.
