Fully accomplished in slinging and lifting operations, with knowledge of all relevant legislation and safe system of work - Preparation and lifting plans - Equipment pre-use inspection.
Safe and correct use of equipment. Slinging principles and terminology.
Appreciation of crane operating principles. Weight estimation - Hand signaling and the use of hand held radios. Lifting and moving loads including tubular's, unbalanced and pre-slung. Appreciation of environment and dynamic factors. Correct loading/unloading of containers, half heights and skips.

Sub vertical Rigger Ropes man on winders and shafts. Stage winders with 6/9 and 6/12 non spin ropes. Record keeping of shaft slings, lifting equipment and maintenance.
Cutting of front ends and preparing a test piece. Slinging down equipment that is too large to fit in cages. Transporting heavy loads like a ton seltzer pumps, raise bore cutters, turbines, boesmans and bobcats.

Repair and put back skip out of guides in shaft.
Changing of skips, bridals and cages.
Removing old ropes and installing new ropes. - Changing guide ropes in the vent shaft.
Installing of flight pumps in flooded shaft bottoms.
