Human Resources Representative April 2009 – present
Recruiting, benefits administration, policy and procedure coordination,
orientation program, ethics administration, training, employee relations and
legal compliance, oversaw temporary employees. Administer pre-
employment/background checks for applicants. Extend offer letters to new
hires. Complete the onboarding process for all new hires (orientation, e-
verify, new hire forms, enter into HRIS/SAP). Administer/compliance
LOA/return to work program (FMLA, Workers’ Comp, Medical). Reporting
/ documenting / tracking workers compensation claims. Create/maintain job
descriptions. Maintain job posting/job bidding/job preference program for
union personnel. Ensure timely and accurate processing of semi-monthly
payroll with ADP. Update employee handbook. Provide payroll reports, as
needed. Generate management reports, as required. Provide support for
401k, profit sharing, pension programs to employees. Develop close liaison
with management and labor in all HR related matters, and respond inquires
regarding policies, programs, and procedures. Involve in contract
negotiations, grievances, and arbitrations. Conduct employee investigations
and research. Compliance with Title VII, ADEA, OWBPA, ADA, AAP,
EEO, WARN Act, FLSA and IRS regulations. Maintain records (personnel,
benefits, training, time & attendance). Current on issues related to payroll,
benefits, recruitment, audits, policies, laws in relation to Human Resources
compliance. Member of the company’s Safety Committee, whose main
focus was reducing accidents and injuries. Insure OSHA compliance.
Extensive experience in a manufacturing environment; (union, non-union,
hourly, exempt, and non-exempt) with a company that fosters Lean
manufacturing / Six Sigma philosophy. Involve in numerous Kaizen events.

Key Accomplishment: As the West Coast Representative, my territory was
California, Washington, Nevada, and Texas. Due to the down turn of the
business; I was responsible for the smooth handling of layoffs, severances,
and terminations of employees at 3 facilities (approx. 250).

Responsible for recruiting for exempt and non-exempt positions, benefits
administration, policy and procedure coordination, new employee

management on disciplinary actions and other employee issues.

Key Accomplishment: During my 15 years in the Human Resources Dept.,
went from a Human Resources Clerk to being a Human Resources
Generalist. I gained extensive knowledge in the Manufacturing / Union
environment. Was part of 3 Union Negotiations, averted a Union Strike in
2001. I established a model Workers Compensation / First Aid Program,
that went on reduced our company costs by 30%, in 2000 and still continues
to be a program that other facilities try and model themselves after.

Maintain Safety Program, monitored Workers’ Comp / First Aid Program for
injured employees, complied wage information for worker’s comp cases,
employee relations and legal compliance, SAP tracking and input, union
