My Role:
For the past 20 years the blast furnaces at TATA Steel Europe (TSE) have used in house
plant monitoring software, called TWIlite, running on the OpenVMS operating system.
TSE requires an upgrade to a solution implemented using the Wonderware System
Platform on Microsoft Windows. The upgrade should remove some of the complexity of
the current system and provide a system which is can be supported by both the software
and hardware vendors. In this Project Wonderware is not communicating directly with
field devices for field data instead d ata is available in MSSQL database which in turn use
for display in wonderware.
