Experience
1993-2006
I was a C.N.A at Golden Acres for 14 years on the skilled unit most of the
time. I did all jobs related to the care of patients in a nursing facility.
I love working with patients and I did a great job while there. I was told
by the administrator that I had so many complimentary letters from
residents, family members and staff that I was the first and only employee
to have two personnel charts. I was promoted to Central Supply Manager
where I was the sole employee for 265 residents and 8 floors. It was a
great job that I loved as well with a lot of responsibility.
2010-2011
I began my job at UT Southwestern Medical Center in the Out Patient Imaging
Clinic. We had several modalities of imaging such as MRI, SONO, FLURO, DEXA
and regular X-ray. My duties were patient screening, comfort and
satisfaction. I would screen patients before they arrived to make sure they
were safe for the modality the doctor had ordered. I tried to organize the
patients schedule so they could get through the day of having many
appointments as easy as possible. I did pregnancy testing when needed,
dressed and helped each patient before and after exams to make sure all was
fine. Patient comfort and satisfaction are my goals as well as UT's.
2011-2012
I was at Out Patient Imaging until October 2011 when I was transferred to
the Breast Center to help out during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It was
explained to me that the C.M.A. that had been there was terminated but was
rehired and was not able to go back to her job so they moved me to her spot
and she took over mine. I will admit that I did not want to be transferred
and my time there was not harmonies for me. My job was all new at that
point but I did persevere and learn a lot of skills that I am sure will
benefit me in the future. I learned to work alongside doctors while doing
sonography scans along with breast biopsies, breast vacuum biopsies and
fine needle aspirations. I set up procedure trays according to procedure
and doctor. I was the doctor's assistant while procedure was in process and
I would send samples off according to what sample was taken. I would keep
my room stocked and checked it daily for amounts and expiration dates on
supply and medications. I drew up medications, put into medical records
what patient had that day and followed patients hand if needed and always
had two shoulders for them. If more information is needed I will be happy
to answer all questions, and references on request.
