Managed workflow on 40-bay loading dock (100-120full trucks unloaded per 4 hour sort
span), including truck bay assignments and employee work tasks. Oversaw Next Day Air
operations (5 - 10 employees), load operations (25 - 45 employees), and unload
operations (40 - 50 employees). Worked with all levels of labor and management, up to
and including the Division Manager. Trained supervisors on operating procedures,
planning, motivation techniques and accountability standards. Trained employees in
methods to ensure safe, accurate and efficient performance. Assisted in training
supervisors and employees at other UPS locations. Performed basic human resources
activities (interviewed job candidates, dismissed underperforming employees, submitted
time cards, handed out checks). Taught new employee orientation class. Promoted from
loader/unloader in August 2003. Promoted from Part-Time Supervisor to Full Time
