POSITION:SINIOR ELECTRICIAN AMPCONTROL BOTWSANA (Majwe Mining Jwaneng Cut

* *******)

RESPONSIBITIES: I am currently working as an electrical foreman. I am

responsible for medium voltage reticulation within the open pit area from

Skid transformers through Breaker Skid to Bucyrus 495HR2 Electrical Shovels

and Atlas Copco Pit Viper 351 Electric Blast hole Drills. This includes

planning of 6.6 KV reticulation relocation and the execution and co-

ordination thereof. I am appointed 13.2 Senior Authorized Electrician by

Debswana Diamond Company and responsible for isolation and switching

operations of 6.6 KV breakers skids within the project scope of work. I

operate and issue Certificates of Compliance of Electrical installations,

certify electrical installations, cable coupling, cable fault locating and

cable testing. I ensure Health and Safety of all Electricians in my shift,

and make sure we comply with Safe Work Procedures and Safe Working

Operating Procedures

2a) JANUARY 2011 -JANUARY 2012( WORK EXPIRI MASCOM WIRELESS)

POSITION : POWER TECHNICIAN

RESPONSIBILITIES: I was working as Power Technician. My

responsibilities were to monitor all transmission network sites are on with

power. I monitored all power trips, battery autonomy testing and battery

backup systems. I did all routine maintenance on their rectifiers,

inverters, chiller plants, UPS, standby generators and electronic security

systems all around the country. I also contributed in the installation and

commissioning of the switches (servers),BMS,11 KV substation, HV switches,

two 1600 KVA generators A and B,LV switches A and B,2MVA Transformers, DC

plants A and B and Chiller plants A and B at the Mascom Innovation Centre

at Phakalane.

b)AUGUST 2001- JANUARY 2011 ( BOTSWANA POWER CORPORATION-GABORONE)

I was working as a High Voltage Maintenance Electrician in the distribution

department. My responsibilities were distribution network and switching

operations to facilitate safe operations, maintenance,repairs and quick

restoration of customer power supplies. In January 2006 to December 2007 I

enrolled for further studies with City & Guilds of London in advanced

technician diploma for electrical engineering. I was Senior Authorized

Electrician in the distribution department and restricted to operate on all

distribution voltages (66 KV and below) specializing in cable fault

location, metal glad switch gear repairs, maintenance and commissioning,Power transformer repairs, maintenance, testing and commissioning. Day to

day duties included:

* High, medium and low voltage cable fault locating (SIM, TDR, ICM, MURREY

LOOP,TAN DELTA and PARTIAL DISCHARGE), cable identification, cable spiking

and cable route tracing (PILC, XLPE and PVC)(BAUR,MEGGAR and SEBA KMT).

*High and medium voltage metal glad switchgear installations, wiring and

commissioning.

*High and medium voltage circuit breaker maintenance, repairs and testing

(oil, vacuum and SF6) {VANGUARD C/B ANALISER)

*High and medium voltage cable pressure testing after repairs and before

commissioning (BAUR SSG 3000, AC/DC VLF Pressure test set and BICOTEST set)

*Prepares system switching programs for approval and carries out network

switching for isolation and restoration of power supply

*Reconnects and disconnects customers following a work order from revenue

* Monitors work carried out on site to ensure a safe environment and

compliance with distribution standards and procedures

*Assembles, installs, wires, calibrates and tests distribution equipment to

ensure compliance with standards and specifications

*Assess work to be carried out and organizes necessary tools and equipments

and allocates and supervises work accordingly

*Checks consumer installation wiring to ensure that it complies with

statutory and BPC regulations

*Attended to system faults, disturbances and customer supply disruption

issues to ensure timeous restoration and supply

*Inspection of distribution network field equipment for input into

maintenance schedule

* Maintenance on distribution network and equipment in accordance with

approved maintenance schedule to ensure availability of plant

*Ensures accurate completion of customer/supplier agreement form and

ensures that details of records of new customers are passed onto the

revenue/commercial department for billing purposes

*Offered technical support to vending station operation to address consumer

queries

*Collected field data on distribution equipment for availability of

information for planning and operations

*Scheduled and supervised planned maintenance of distribution network

equipment to ensure system availability

*Promoted safety awareness in line with SHE requirements through periodic

audits

*Investigate and initiates repairs of network faults to ensure speedy

restorations of supplies and provision of supply services according to set

standards

*Prepared preliminary network designs and cost estimates in accordance with

distribution standards, including pointing out of the need to refund

pioneer customers to ensure cost recovery within delegated limits

*Initiated the mapping of the new customers and network points that are not

covered by the existing map to ensure that maps are accurate and updated

*Prepared periodic and AD HOC reports to supervisor on issues relating to

area of responsibility

*Advised customers on technical requirements for different types of supply

including the location of the corporation equipment during preliminary

designs

*Assessed uptake of customer potential and opportunities for growth and

recommends to marketing to target potential customers

*Contributed in formation and review of operating and system control

procedures to ensure efficiency and safety.

Organized activities and allocated duties and responsibilities for the

section. Tests and commission completed work to ensure that systems and

ancillary equipment is working in accordance with specifications .Carried

out switching at major substations as required.
