Highlights included, a) developments in ongoing projects to incorporate rules in legacy systems to incorporate Center for Medicare Services (CMS) compliant logic, b) managed a multi-year effort to convert logic in over one hundred legacy CICS order entry screens into stand-alone online backend server programs. Priority developments were completed to support the company's initial implementation of its newly designed work flow based client platform order entry system.
• Efforts in the multi-year conversion project were recognized as a turning point in the company's growth, since the operating handling cost per order was dramatically reduced upon delivery.
• Led a development team to convert a large number of legacy CICS screen logics into online backend server programs with DB2 and CICS accessing and inclusion of Message Queue(MQ) interfacing to support calling from various external functions.
• Developed a large number of programs with DB2 and CICS accessing to execute requirement procedures in an assortment of updating and reporting programs.
• Efforts also included enhancements in many batch and online programs to track progression of CMS member approvals status and to also handle CMS members annual enrollment processing.

Highlights included, a) being part of team that developed the company's initial communication channel between traditional order entry pharmacies and the initial remote dispensing pharmacy. This channel allowed transmission of dispensing-ready orders to the remote dispensing pharmacy, b) key developer on team that re-engineered and upgraded the company's legacy order entry system going from a single order entry process into a multiple order entry process.
• Efforts on this project were hugely successful and allowed for significant pharmacy operational savings and were recognized as major milestones in the progression of the company's growth.
o Major benefits included increased order entry speed, larger order entry through-put, reduced system down time and reduced order re-work.
• Developed several communications programs with DB2 and CICS accessing including the main transmission programs with processing logic (including MQ interfacing) to handle automated transmission of dispensing-ready orders between local order entry pharmacies and remote dispensing pharmacies.
o This interfacing channel was later leveraged to support implementation of additional strategically located dispensing pharmacies.
• Programming functionalities included database updating with order status, creating online screens to inquiry and track order status.
• Developed several functionality specific CICS screen programs to upgrade from legacy single prescription entry screens to allow entry of multiple prescriptions in the same transaction.
• Primary deliveries included development of the refill, change and new prescription programs, with all including new functionality to begin accepting problematic prescriptions.
• Several other stand alone backend programs with centralized function specific logic were created to support execution from multiple higher level functions.
