Regional Projects:
1975 South Texas lease sale:
Identified sand/shale trends using seismic velocities in anticipation of first South
Texas lease sale.
East Coast offshore USA:
Regional analysis using coastal well control tied to seismic in order to predict age of
sediments, source, reservoir, and structure for entire east coast offshore.
Recommended bidding in two of three basins, Baltimore Canyon and Georg es Bank.
Sub-Salt play:
Identified and evaluated blocks with sub-salt potential in the south additions of
Louisiana and Texas. A farmout to Shell resulted in a field discovery (Enchilada).
Wilcox Trend Analysis:
An evaluation of the onshore Wilcox trend was completed, ranging from Zapata to
Victoria counties. Using new paleo work and sequence stratigraphy, additional
acreage was acquired as a result of this project. Additionally, the identification of a
new trend in the middle to lower Wilcox was also a product of this work.
