Projects involved
• Operations Systems Scanning (OPSCAN) was an application (IBM OS2) to plan route, update status
and track international packages. Provide support by analyzing problems in production,
troubleshooting and resolving problems interacting directly with users located in major airports around
the world. Resolutions involved manipulating database remotely and accessing Mainframe to gather
or correct data and update status of data uploading or downloading to the application. Programming
maintenance in C language.
Operations Systems and Verification Lab
• P lan Flow Technology System (PFT), which is a set of software applications designed to
automate package sorting in hubs (distribution centers) and simplify preload operations
i n the package centers. This suite of applications is installed in automated hubs, that
actually moves the packages through conveyor belts around the buildings and placed on
outbound doors after sorted and is also installed in Package center preload operations to
assist the loader in what package car and what position within the car the package
should be placed. Each car has an assigned route for delivery.
• PFT consisted of more than 11 applications. At least 9 of them were the basic
core of the system. The rest were additional applications that provide specialized
services such CIS/CME that enables messaging among application and between
external systems like the Mainframe and AS400 that mainly are used for data
r epository. Each of the PFT applications has its own purpose, like plan route for
delivery of package, print bar code that include route and package location, key
entry package related data, correct package status update, scan package bar code
and upload information to Mainframe/AS400, perform actual delivery of package
by using portable device to confi rm delivery and upload confirmation via wireless
and radio. As a QA I was in charge of testing every new release of the PFT
applications. A new release might involve one or many applications that the suite
contained. Tasks included the analysis of the new requirements, design of system
t est plan, scenarios and tests scripts. Most of the releases required End to End
t esting with verification of data integrity in all phases and locations of the
package data.
OPSYS Modernization
System and Performance testing involved in system testing in the modernization of an old Mainframe
application (0psys) based entirely in Mainframe programs (Cobol). The new set of applications will
substitute Opsys making use of multi tier levels or environments for the purpose of changing Mainframe
interface to a Web application interface. This new project involved inclusion of Web Servers, Application
Servers, MQ servers so the user can gain faster and more effective access to the data at different levels as
Corporate, Region, District User. Designed test plan and scripting based in functional requirements to be
used from Quality Center. Tracked defects using Team Track Defect system tool. For the Performance
testing designed test plan in order to fulfill the SLA (service level agreements) requirements for all
functionality involved. Made use of automated tools to create data and test data like HP QTP Pro, also used
Load Runner tool to simulate access, navigation and verify functionality to simulate multiple virtual users
accessing the application at the same time. In all cases, used Correlation to capture dynamic values passed
from the server to the client. QTP 11 and Load Runner 11 training by GenieLogix.
