Hammer Lane / SR99 Interchange and Widening Project, Stockton, California: construction inspector on a $60 million improvement and widening project designed to upgrade (SR) 99, between Highway 4 and Hammer Lane, from a two lane roadway to a three lane roadway including the demolition and construction of a new bridge at Hammer Lane and the partial demolition and widening of four other bridges within the project limits.
Duties included the inspections of embankment grading, roadway excavation, shoulder construction, asphalt concrete paving, metal beam guard rail installations, drainage systems, sanitary sewer systems, water supply lines, concrete structures, concrete curb, gutter and sidewalk, concrete barriers, sound walls, traffic signal modifications, street lighting, traffic operations systems, irrigation systems, landscaping and general highway inspection.
Sheldon Road / SR99 in Elk Grove, California: Construction inspector on a $45 million improvement and widening project; including the demolition and construction of a new bridge on Sheldon Road over SR99. Duties include the inspections of embankment grading, roadway excavation, shoulder construction, asphalt concrete paving, metal beam guard rail installations, drainage systems, sanitary sewer systems, water supply systems, concrete structures, concrete curb, gutter and sidewalk, concrete barriers, and sound walls.
SR880 / Coleman Interchange, San Jose, California: principal construction inspector for the City of San Jose. The project included pavement widening and reconstruction, curbs, sidewalks, utility relocations, traffic signal installations and modifications, the construction of the Coleman Overpass, ramps from SR880 to Coleman Ave. and a tunnel leading to the San Jose International Airport. I was the principal construction inspector for the City and liaison between the City Public Works Department, the Airport and the Resident Engineer. Responsible for oversight inspection of the project, review and approval of proposed traffic control plans for work that affected traffic flow on Coleman Avenue or the ingress or egress to the airport and final acceptance of drainage installations and modifications, pavement reconstruction, sidewalk, curb and gutter, traffic signal installation and modifications, street lighting, landscaping.
(SR) 87 HOV Lanes, San Jose California: principal construction inspector for the City of San Jose. The project included project pavement widening and reconstruction, curb and gutter, sidewalks, utility relocations, partial demolition and widening of four bridge structures, relocation of drainage systems, traffic signal installations and modifications, sound walls, retaining walls and utility relocations. Responsible for oversight inspection of the project, review and approval of proposed traffic control plans for work that affected traffic flow within the city right-of-way (including false work installation and removal), drainage system installation and modifications, sanitary systems modifications, traffic signal and street light installations and modifications.
(SR) 101 Widening from SR 880 to Metcalf Rd, San Jose, California: associate construction inspector for the City of San Jose. The project consisted of the complete demolition and reconstruction of six bridges (one railroad bridge, four city bridges and one Caltrans bridge) to achieve the required minimal vertical clearances, embankment grading, roadway excavation, shoulder construction, asphalt concrete paving, drainage systems, sanitary systems, concrete bridge structures, concrete curb, gutter and sidewalk, traffic signal modifications, and general highway inspection. Provided oversight inspection on the project, reviewed and recommended approval of proposed traffic control plans for work that affected traffic flow within the city right-of-way, inspected drainage system installations and modifications, inspected sanitary system modifications, inspected traffic signal and street light installations and modifications.
(SR) 280 / Almaden-Vine Seismic Retrofit, San Jose, California: associate construction inspector for the City of San Jose and provided oversight inspection on the project.

Parallel East Pipeline, Santa Clara Valley Water District, San Jose, California: associate construction inspector for the City of San Jose. The project consisted of the installation of a 54” fresh water transmission pipeline that extended through residential areas and along major city arterials. Responsible for the review and approval of proposed traffic control plans, the inspection of trench excavation and backfill, pavement restoration and sidewalk, curb and gutter repair.
Milpitas Pipeline, Santa Clara Valley Water District, San Jose, California: associate construction inspector for the City of San Jose. The project consisted of the installation of a 48” fresh water transmission pipeline that extended through residential areas and along major city arterials. Responsible for the review and approval of proposed traffic control plans, the inspection of trench excavation and backfill, pavement restoration and sidewalk, curb and gutter repair.
Snell Pipeline, Santa Clara Valley Water District, San Jose, California: associate construction inspector for the City of San Jose. The project consisted of the installation of a 60” fresh water transmission pipeline that extended through residential areas and along major city arterials. Responsible for the review and approval of proposed traffic control plans, the inspection of trench excavation and backfill, pavement restoration and sidewalk, curb and gutter repair.
City of San Jose, San Jose, California: Principal Construction Inspector – In charge of reviewing construction plans submitted by utility companies for constructability, compliance, and inspection. Managed staff that inspected projects by Pacific Gas and Electric, ComCast, San Jose Water Company, PacBell, AT&T, Sprint etc.
City of San Jose, San Jose, California: Principal Construction Inspector – Principal inspector on the ComCast project that installed 2000 miles of coax and fiber optic cable to connect every home in the city. The project included installing NODE cabinets with electrical power connections and meters, directional bore, rock wheel trenches and overhead installations. This was a $120 million dollar, 5 year project that was completed in 3 years.
City of San Jose, San Jose, California: Associate Construction Inspector – Seventh St. Storm Sewer project. Installed four miles of 48” RCP on the east side of 7th St. Project included relocating gas, power, phone underground facilities (including utility vaults) and reconstructing the roadway and curb and gutter where necessary.
City of San Jose, San Jose, California: Principal Construction Inspector – SR130 at Coyote Creek. Constructed twin 24” siphons 15’ below the creek bed to allow the flow line of the creek to be lowered at that location. Project also included street light installations, reconstructing the roadway, widening the bridge, utility and utility vault relocation.
Rail Projects (2004 to 2008) ( Budgets: $5M to $50M
Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority, San Jose, California: senior construction inspector for the City of San Jose, I was responsible for the relocation and inspection of existing public utilities, the relocation of existing drainage systems, the relocation of existing sanitary systems, traffic signal modifications, street light modifications, the exact placement of traction electrification poles (TES), the review and approval of proposed traffic control plans, roadway reconstruction, sidewalk, curb and gutter replacement.
Building Construction & Demolition Projects (1985 to Present) ( Budgets: $450K to $11M
Veteran Administration, Menlo Park, Ca.: Consolidated Support Center warehouse and office building,: Responsible for plan and specification review, demolition of existing facilities and utilities; inspected all stages of new 25,000 sq. ft. facility from design to acceptance.
Veteran Administration, Menlo Park, Ca: Responsible for patient care and office building remodels. The remodel was done in occupied buildings. Units affected were buildings 347,349, 350, 351 and 352. All projects finished ahead of schedule.
