WORK EXPERIENCE:
Sellen Construction Co., Inc., Seattle, WA, 6/2000 - 12/2000
Web Analyst / Programmer:
I was responsible for maintaining and developing the company's intranet and extranet websites. I also
wrote custom applications in Visual Basic. I appreciated that this job allowed me to utilize my
problem-solving skills to come up with creative alternatives to their former data sharing methods.
Sellen Construction Co., Inc., Seattle, WA, 6/1998 - 3/2000
Information Systems Technical Assistant:
I was responsible for maintaining the health of PCs at both the main office and its job sites (on a
WAN). In addition to the PCs, I was responsible for supporting many printers. I enjoyed that this job
allowed me the opportunity to strengthen and utilize my troubleshooting skills.
Highline School District 401, Burien, WA, 9/1996 - 6/2000
Network Intern:
I created Highline High School's first web page, which started my path to computer programming. I
assisted with wiring the buildings, and expanding the network. I have significant experience with
category-5 cable, hubs, switches, and other devices. I learned to use thorough diagnostic techniques in
trouble-shooting workstation and network difficulties (including the use of Fluke devices). I installed
server operating systems (Windows NT 4.0, NT 4.0 Advanced Server, Windows 2000 Server,
Windows 2000 Advanced Server), and client operating systems (DOS 2.0 and later, Windows 1.04,
Windows 3.x, Windows 9x, Windows NT 3.5x, NT 4.0, 2000 Professional). I became competent in
Microsoft s Office 95/97/2000 suites. I exercised and developed good people skills, interfacing with
staff members and students during my internship. I liked that this job allowed me to use a broad
range of my abilities.
