Successfully managed a phased activation of Eclipsys Sunrise Clinical Manager at a 900 bed-Academic
Medical Center. Final phase was a 700-bed Big Bang approach of the adult hospitals. Closed Command
Center an average of 48 hours early with each implementation phase.
Facilitated project executives and managers to build the Activation Checklist, a decision tree including
the Project Management O ce s critical path and other project and team dependencies. The Checklist
led to an objective criteria-based go-no/go decision for the product activation.
D irected customer contacts and coordination of communication e orts.
Organized and managed 24x7 Command Center consisting of 200 project analysts, phone and oor
support individ uals. Operations included issue triage and management, roles and responsibilities of
p articipants, daily scheduling and other logistics, as well as contingency strategies.
D esigned and implemented a methodology for customer participation and readiness in the activation
p rocess. Method included Super Users and support model p reparation, expectations and scheduled
meetings with customers throughout the implementation phase of the project. Approach was
h ighlighted at Eclipsys User Network 2007.
D eveloped procedures for converting paper based medical records to electronic orders at the onset of

Managed the Enterprise Allergies Project to create a single store of coded UMLS-based p atient allergy
and reaction information within th e Clinical Data Repository along with a standardized H L7 message to
share the data between disparate clinical systems. Project included the conversion of over 500K free text
entries to coded values.
Led Clinical Stakeholders, including physician executives, hospital leaders and end users, through
analysis, design and usability studies of novel User Interface for the input and display of coded allergy
information within CareWeb, a custom-built clinical results viewer.
Successfully managed the Internal Medicine implementation of Discharge Navigator, an internally
d eveloped work ow and documentation application. D ischarge Navigator resulted in 80% transcription
avoidance as well as d ecreasing mean discharge documentation delivery time to 1.7 days. D irected
application training of approximately 600 nurses, medical, clerical and support sta .
Working with physician service chiefs and nursing unit managers, designed a deployment strategy for
D ischarge Navigator rollout to 18 adult and pediatric units.
