SUMMARY
Forensic technician with experience in test fixture design and operation; planning and construction of courtroom models and
demonstratives; design drafting and assembly of automated manufacturing equipment; preproduction design and testing of
electronic fuel injection and alternate fuel components for automotive engine applications.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
MDE Inc. Seattle, WA (1991 to Present)
Forensic Technician Assist in design and fabrication of unique test fixtures; installation of instrumentation and construction
of data acquisition equipment. Investigation tests include trailer-mounted compressor fire, automotive steering gear failure,
retaining strap failure, coffee maker fire, fire alarm system failure, flame retardant textile testing, and oil combustion at elevated
temperature and pressure.
Model Maker Computer-aided design of scale models based on dimensional data. Complete fabrication of courtroom
models and demonstratives. Scale models including: moving factory machinery and human figure to show safety deficiencies,
partially flexible natural gas service to demonstrate joint failure and fire origin, complete intersection of accident including
vehicles in appropriate detail and foliage obstructions, offroad mining equipment and scale terrain to show vehicle collision,
dumpster hauling trailer to show strap hold downs and tip over issues, elevator car and hardware problems, automotive seat
sectioned and reassembled to display frame deficiencies, child resistant window latch prototype fabrication for demonstration,
shield for side-mounted gas tank to show safe design in side impact collision, and cargo container lifting vehicle with
interchangeable modules to show existing design flaws and alternative safe designs.
Design Drafter Computer-aided design of components and assemblies for automated wire and film winding machinery.
Assist in design and drafting of automated carabiner production system, film winding and processing equipment, and
automatic part dispensing machinery for floppy disk manufacturing. Fabrication and testing of electronic controlled wind tunnel
smoke generating equipment. Procurement, component fabrication, electrical and mechanical assembly of machinery.
IMPCO Technologies, Inc. Seattle, WA (1989 1991)
Drafting Lead and Mechanical Design Coordinator Mechanical and electronic packaging of components for computer
controlled alternative fuel systems. Packaging design of fuel mixture control valve and gas mass flow sensor. Model design
and fabrication of hot-wire anemometer housing. Assembly and testing of prototype components, tooling, and calibration
fixtures. System application design, component selection, and procurement.
Air Sensors, Inc. Seattle, WA (1984 1989)
Design Drafter Mechanical and electronic design of automotive fuel injection systems. Mechanical design of fuel injection
throttle bodies, tuned port manifolds, air mass flow sensors, and computer housings with related hardware. Cosmetic and
functional design models of throttle bodies, air intakes, and mass flow sensor element housings. Design and test of prototype
components and assembly tooling. Technical illustration and graphic art design of computer front panels and basic printed
circuit board design.
