Profile

I am a young and friendly music enthusiast, approachable and open-

minded. I enjoy interacting with all types of people and particularly appreciate

exploring new music and the technologies with which it is created. I play drums,

saxophone and piano/keyboards and enjoy writing and producing new music in my

free time.

I studied Music at University for four years, which has helped me to become

an eloquent communicator and more importantly an accomplished music producer. I

spent three years studying a Commercial Music degree and went on to complete a

Masters degree in Advanced Music Production at the Cardiff School of Creative and

Cultural Studies. Between my two degrees I have acquired a vast range of knowledge

covering many aspects of the music industry, including everything from music

business, marketing, promotions and distribution to writing, recording and

performing.

My drive to develop skills and technical knowledge provides me with great

confidence when working with new media technologies. I enjoy listening to all styles

of music, and take a particular interest in that which features prominent influence

from technology and digital methodologies.

I have very much enjoyed working in the education environment. Due to the

Performing Arts status of Hemel Hempstead School I am fortunate to have

responsibility of maintaining 27 Mac computers in two music production suites, and a

recording studio. Duties include software updates, maintenance of learning materials,

recording/producing coursework and I have also taught basic digital music production

to young people of all ages. The continuation of this learning goes into more

advanced teaching with older A-level Music Technology students.

Here I gained valuable experience of working in a global multinational

business. My role involved visiting retail outlets, liaising with customers to

accommodate their requirements, and negotiating effective in store activation for a

range of products. As a brand ambassador, maximising promotions and

merchandising opportunities relied upon good awareness of visual exposure, and

required excellent relationships and communication skills with both store managers

and consumers of the product. I very much enjoyed the roles and responsibilities of

this job and saw each visit as a challenge to maximise opportunities and overcome

objections, injecting enthusiasm towards the brand. Ultimately achieving high impact

activation, leading to maximum brand exposure and profitable sales growth.

This involved working to launch and build the new Relentless Energy drink,

by organising and running University promotional and sampling events, progressively

building brand preference in all retail and bar outlets on campus and the surrounding

area. Reaching key target consumers relied upon effective activation in these areas,

changing attitudes towards the energy market through a strong brand identity.

Relentless was the fastest growing energy drink in the UK market during this time.

customers in the retail areas. I dealt with customer service issues and interacted with a

variety of members of the public. Although my main interest working here was to

study the sound design and music used in all the newly released films!

expressing ideas. I am enthusiastic; keen to excel in everything I do, and favour a

Music Production

Throughout my time at University I have been working on producing my own

music, showing significant development as an artist and producer. My routes in

education covered modules in sound design, remixing, digital recording, digital

production, programmable digital systems and more.

Illustration & Graphic Design

I am a keen drawer and enjoy illustration and design. I have some experience

with computer image editing software and enjoy designing album artwork and

promotional materials for music artists and/or companies. I enjoy this creative output

as it enables me to express my thoughts and ideas through a visual medium as

opposed to audio.

Sports

I am a very active, energetic person and enjoy all kinds of sports and

activities. I like to keep a healthy body and a healthy mind at all times, giving me

discipline and balance in life.
