I am a qualified print designer / creative artworker with over five years experience in newspapers and magazines, freelancing and

commercial printing.

2011 Production Controller

My responsibilities in this position were to liaise with textile mills in Asia, shipping companies, buyers and designers to co-

ordinate the production and timely delivery to stores of new designs and products for a variety of leading textile and

soft furnishing companies. I also carried out proof-reading, label design and detailed checking of sample fabrics for

quality and printing errors.

2010 Graphic Designer

KALL KWIK, Barnet, Hertfordshire

My principal duty was designing and printing a wide range of products for business and private customers, including

business cards, posters, stationery, corporate brochures, magazines and leaflets.

I was also charged with setting up large format print jobs, proofreading, colour separation and platemaking for

lithographic print, as well as advising customers, maintaining efficient archival systems and studio traffic management.

In this role, I developed my commercial design expertise and furthered my knowledge of print processes, and was

trained in the use of the Canon VP6000 Digital Press, EKO Platemaker and HP large format printer, Printshop Mail and

Jigsaw imposition software.

2005-2009 Senior Artist / Studio Manager

NEWSQUEST INTERNATIONAL, Hendon, Middlesex

Initially assistant to the existing Senior Artist, I was promoted to Studio Manager in 2007. In this position, I conceived and

designed adverts, page layouts, features, headers and supplements for the range of seven newspaper titles across the

Northwest London division.

I was also responsible for the design and production of online advertising and all pre-press preparation, artwork

proofing and uploading artwork to the AdTech server for printing, as well as liaising with printers

and sales executives.

I was nominated for Advert of the Year 2007 and was a member of the team who were nominated for 2006 Studio of

the Year in the national company awards.

2005 - Present Freelance Graphic Designer

Concurrent with my full time employment, I developed a freelance interest concentrating on specialised design such as

record sleeves, event posters and club fliers. I have a wide range of regular clients with whom I work closely, and

have since diversified into producing corporate stationery, advertisements, brochures and promotional literature

for a variety of businesses in North London and Hertfordshire.

I also worked on the student magazine as a designer and sub editor, and ran a student club night.

I was reponsible for administrative duties, data entry and maintaining the council planning archive. I also fielded enquiries
