Experience
July 2009 to December 2011
BRS Dorchester, MA
Lead Mechanic
Once again not to sure of the start date. This was the first job that I was ever laid off of since I started roofing.I know the economy was not at it's best but I was not used to being told I'll call you when things pick up. I did all the same job duties but with this company I would go to weekly safety meetings. This is where I left off and I have not found work since. I actually decided for the first time to take off the year and spend time with my wife and kids but Im realizing that in reality I have to work to take care of my family.
January 2007 to January 2008
A&M Roofing Andover, Ma
Lead Mechanic
Not sure about the exact dates. They were an industrial roofing company. My jobs were all the same just different places.
March 2004 to December 2006
Progressive Roofing Malden, MA
Lead Mechanic
Im not to sure about all the dates Im just estimating from what I can remember. After my families business I decided no to go for foreman jobs I was better at getting things done myself. If I was needed to run a job I would do it but I was much happier to do the work and also more valuable to the company.I started working under Steve Power and realized there was still so much to learn. I did all the same things in every job aside from this one being just industrial again.I left when they moved to Haverhill for my own personal reasons.
June 1999 to January 2004
Poliskey & Sons Roofing Gloucester, MA
Foreman
Im not 100 percentage sure of the dates but they are estimates.I left my last job to help my cousin build his business.I would go out and learn to price jobs,do estimates, and make stock lists for every job. At the start of the business it was just the 2 of us. Then when we got money and established he hired other guys to do labor and mechanic. When repairs were needed I would go and do them on off days. I would make sure everyones job was getting done and done right at the same time I still did everything a mechanic would do.I also handled every metal job that came into the company it became my specialty. I would always work hard to ensure every job was finished on time and right. I would also go and pick up stock for any jobs we were doing. At this time I was working 60 to 70 hours a week no matter the weather.I had a bad family fight that cost me my job so I decided not to look back.
September 1997 to May 1999
Tompkins Roofing Medford, Ma
Lead Mechanic/ Foreman
Im not 100 percentage sure about the dates just a estimate.I left the union to work under my cousin Stephen Poliskey as a mechanic. We did residential roofs. I was also being trained to run my own crew. Did not like to be foreman but I did it anyway. I would rather go in put my head down and work.On days they didnt have work due to weather they would send me on repairs. I worked rain, sun, sleet, and snow I loved it.
August 1995 to August 1997
KPR Dorchester, MA
Roof Mechanic
Im not sure of the exact dates. This was my first job in the roofing industry.I never was a laborer they put me as a mechanic right away I had a talent for the job and was ready to learn it all. It was with the union I worked with Kevin Green until I was asked by family to go work with them.I did commercial roofing. I was there for about 2 months before they started layoffs but I had a talent and desire for roofing that the foreman wanted so he continued to keep me on instead of people with seniority.
Education and Training
