Mr. Sporkin provides Expert Testimony regarding data collection
and the processing of that data for purposes of litigation. He
is an information technology professional with a Master s degree
in Computer Science and over 12 years of experience with the
Big4 accounting firms and their successor firms providing Litigation Support.
He specializes in the collection and processing of data from the
complete spectrum of sources found in today s corporate environment.
He has led data collection projects ranging from 1 to 200+ custodians
in countries around the world, and is able to provide insights into
the challenges of collecting data for global clients.
David also provides expert testimony in Software Trade Secrets and
Computer System Failure cases. His credentials include 12 years prior
experience as a software developer, working on both government contracts
and commercial development projects, and the CSDP certification. He is
still an active developer and has a patent pending for an eMail search
engine that allows a user to visually display and search a large body
of eMails.

Professional Experience
David concentrates on projects with Financial Services, Health Care,
Energy and High Technology clients.
At a previous employer, he was a member of the Banking and Financial
Services team that handled banking matters and investigations in the
United States, Korea, and
Mexico. For nine years of his career, he was a contractor to various
agencies associated with the Department of Defense, where he focused
on processing large amounts of data in complex text, image and
signal processing applications.

Served
as court appointed Neutral Expert in a class action
litigation for a top tier charge card provider.
The two sides were unable to agree on whether any relevant data was
available, and/or producible. We were brought in to assist the process. We
interviewed company personnel, assisted counsel in
identifying relevant data, and proposed a strategy for the
production and review of over 1 billion customer
transactions over a 10 year period. This plan was accepted by the court and allowed the litigation
to proceed past the discovery phase and move on to the issues.
Electronic discovery expert testimony
In a litigation matter where approximately $500 million was at
risk,
We were able to
extract relevant financial entries and data that enabled
counsel to pursue questionable journal entries that
improperly added billions of dollars of debt to solvent
entities that impaired the creditors expected recoveries in
a bankruptcy proceeding.
We processed over 53 million records representing
accounting transactions of a national communications company
over a five year period. Utilizing our Standard Data
Analysis Process, we loaded the data into a database and
documented the structure and content of the data provided.
We worked from financial statements and other material to
model complex financial transactions.
Electronic discovery consulting
Our client, a global communications provider, suspected a
recent acquisition in Beijing was in violation of the Foreign Corrupt Practices
Act (FCPA).
The client was concerned the new division may
have been participating in bribes for local officials to
acquire new business opportunities. We had a team on site
within 48 hours and collected data from over 50 devices in 4
days. The evidence was transported back to the
US where we culled the documents and provided relevant
Mandarin Chinese files to counsel for review.
Electronic discovery consulting
Directed electronic discovery efforts for a financial
services client who was responding to inquiries by certain
federal regulatory authorities.
Recovered data from a
variety of systems that was responsive to the regulator's
requests.In addition to other types of electronic information, we
recovered e-mails from Groupwise and Microsoft Exchange and
MS SQL-Server databases.
Electronic discovery consulting
Assisted medical service provider in analyzing 5 years of patient
billing records for evidence of upcoding and unbundling.
Managed the design, development and maintenance of a
database with over 60 million patient, billing, and
reimbursement records in a major health care litigation
matter. Assisted finacial team in calulating government reimbursements and penalties.
