Re: Business Analyst

Dear Hiring Manager

I am very interested in the above-noted position that was advertised by 3K Consulting, on August 13, 2012, and believe

my educational background and experience would make me an ideal candidate. I believe this position would fully utilize

my Business skills, which I have gained through an undergraduate degree in commerce, a Master s degree in finance

and economics, and experience as an equities trader in the investment industry. I believe this position would also

utilize the interpersonal skills I gained while working on the sales floor of Oshawa Sobeys for eight years, and

volunteering with the Conservative Party of Ontario.

The experience I have gained through education, work, and volunteerism have helped me develop the following skills that

meet the qualifications you are looking for:

I possess strong written/oral communication skills, as well as strong customer relations skills. As an equities

trader, I was responsible for drafting research reports, which outlined the risk/rewards of potential investments,

and for presenting buy/sell recommendations to senior managers. As a volunteer with the Conservative Party of

Ontario, I made phone calls to local constituents, and went door-to-door in the community, trying to generate

support for the local candidate. As a clerk at Oshawa Sobeys, I interacted directly with customers by answering

any questions and dealing with any complaints.

I have demonstrated excellent organizational skills. While working at Oshawa Sobeys, I organized the produce

department s inventory by separating product according to product category, and dating each product to ensure a

first-in-first-out system. I also logged weekly orders and sales into spreadsheets, using Microsoft Excel, to help

determine which products had the highest/lowest turnover.

I have developed expert proficiency in all Microsoft Office products, as well as other computer databases. I have

over 10 years experience using Microsoft Office Suite and have taken university level classes in computer

communications, where I developed fluency in the advanced functions of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and

Excel. I have also used Thompson Reuters Datastream, Bloomberg, and Mornigstar to gather financial data, and

EViews econometric software to run statistical regressions.

I have developed superior analytical skills. As an equities trader, I analyzed stock charts, financial statements,

financial ratios, and company prospectuses to determine trends and forecast future performance. I also used

Microsoft Excel to organize large amounts of financial data, calculate financial ratios, and create charts.

I have demonstrated a commitment and motivation to my work. As an undergraduate student, I graduated with a

3.96 GPA, receiving highest Distinction honours. My success at the undergraduate level helped me receive the

University of Glasgow Scotland Saltire Scholarship award to pursue my postgraduate education overseas. As a

postgraduate, I continued my hard work and graduated with distinction.

I would like the chance to talk to you about this opportunity and possibly set up an interview. I am available by email at

****.*******.********@*****.*** or by phone at 905-***-****. Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Paul Davidson
