Project Engineer (Mechanical Construction)

Reports directly to the Project Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for daily construction activity of the site; coordinating with the project manager, consultants

and all concerned functional department etc. Using all approved drawings and materials for the safe, efficient and

compliant execution of the project to ensure that all contractual and specification requirements are fulfilled.

• Responsible for preparation of method statements in consultation with Project Engineer and same

should approved by consultant and/or client for execution of work

• Supervision of activities on site and reporting any trends for delays to the Project Manager to ensure that

the overall project programmer is achieved and enabling early identification of any corrective actions deemed

necessary.

• Responsible to carry out the specified inspection / test in accordance with relevant inspection / test plans,

and ensure that (in coordination with the QA Engineer, where applicable) quality records are maintained and

signed - off by the Project Manager / Consultants / Client. (Including the works of the Subcontractors.) To ensure

that all legal and specified project records are in place at the end of the project for handover to the client or

consultant as per their contractual entitlement.

• Site supervision to ensure work carried out on site is in accordance with:

a. Drawing and specification

b. Construction programmer

c. Method Statements

d. Resolve any technical related issues as instructed and directed by project manager as appropriate.

• Monitoring progress of work against construction programmers and submission of required site reports in

accordance with project reporting Plan.

• Monitor, control, and coordinate the works of different trade subcontractors and report on their progress

and or trends for problems / delays to Project Manager to ensure that all components of the program are achieved

in a timely and cost-effective manner.

• Responsible for maintaining and recording at all time site management information system and

performance, recording daily site activities and any circumstances that have adverse effect on the project in

liaison with and under instruction from other stakeholders as appropriate.

• Review drawings and take necessary action to ensure sufficient information is available. Monitor and

ensure that only current / latest revisions of issued for construction drawings are being used to ensure the

avoidance of construction errors being made arising from wrong information in the field.

• Responsible for providing full support to the project manager or his designates with regular feedback of

all information relating to project status with particular references to program, quality, variations, client issues and

other relevant facts etc.

• Responsible for reviewing the performance of the Site Development, Inspection of site work, Inspection

of Supervisors, Foreman, staff and Labors and also initiate on job training programs according to demonstrated

needs.

• Responsible for daily site quantity calculation in order to forecast the material requirement, labour

requirement plant and equipments..

• Responsible for assisting and implementing quality and safety procedures in the project as per the

company safety policy.

Project: Saline Water Conversion Corporation Eastern Province Water Transmission

System Phase 2.

Position: Site Superintend.

This was another fast track project where we had to complete a 64” dia 54 km water transmission pipeline

between the Jubail Desalination Plant and the City of Dammam, in a very short time in order to upgrade the

city’s water demand for current and future requirements. The work includes pipeline installation, along

Dammam Jubail highway and along the edge of omar ibn al Khattab Raod which required intricate planning

and execution of work within the given time frame for working on closure of roads in city limits.

I was reporting to construction manager and was responsible to manage the construction of right of way,

trench preparation, pipe stringing and coordination with welding manager for the welding works and coating

and backfilling and restoration of the area.

KHURAIS Mega Project (Oilfield Upstream Facilities)

The Khurais Mega Project as a whole covers three oil fields: Khurais, Abu Jifan and Mazalij.The Khurais

field, with an area of 2,890 km2 and 127 km long,located about 250 km southwest of dhahran and 300km

north southeast of Riyadh,is the biggest.Abu Jifan covers 520km 2southwest of khurais and Mazalij covers

1,630km2 southeast of Abu Jifan.

Reporting to construction manager, I was responsible for Tie ins of all flow lines, work involve coordination

with fabrication to ensure timely completion and availability of spools, coordination with QA/QC ‘s for timely

completion clearance of NDT and preparation of pre commissioning and commissioning of the lines.
