SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Significantly increased membership. Kiwanis International was experiencing declining membership. Conducted research through focus groups, implementing strategic direction. Gained a 9,000 member increase in one year and Kiwanis received Associations Advance America Award of Excellence from ASAE.
Eliminated growing debt. Assumed EVP role with Association of Health Insurance Agents, discovering annual deficit of $250K a year. Developed alternative income options, initiating cost-saving solutions. Removed deficit to second-year surplus of $31K, a $281K turnaround.
Stopped membership losses. US Junior Chamber of Commerce had declining membership for seven years. Developed marketing strategies and redesigned management systems for HQ and volunteers, implementing organization-wide recruitment. Eliminated losses increasing membership by 4000 in one year.
Key player in lobbying for passage of health care bill. Kassebaum / Kennedy Health reform bill (portability) was proposed and the Association of Health Insurance Agents provided expertise and lobbying in the bill`s development. Utilized skills in building coalitions and grassroots efforts, lobbying, and public education to modify new bill which assisted in the passage of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.

Entrepreneur / Consultant, Web Site Assist (Principal) 1997 to present. Started up successful web design, consulting and hosting company, becoming profitable within three months. Current focus is on associations, utilizing skills to provide market awareness, Internet presence, administration, and planning, leading to effective sales and marketing strategies. Have personally increased team sales in an organization to 153% of quota.
Executive Director, Slack, Inc., 1998 to 1999 (concurrent with Web Site Assist). Association Management firm. Consulted to three different associations: Pan-Pacific Surgical, Centerspan and International Society of Pharmacoepidemiology. Managed budget surplus adding programs and streamlining processes.
Executive VP, Association of Health Insurance Agents, 1995 to 1997. Served as CEO for 6200 member organization and four employee office. Non-voting member of 14 member Board of Directors. Lobbied, developed resources, managed budgets and marketing.
International Secretary (Executive Director), Kiwanis International, 1987 to 1994. Non-profit charitable organization. Managed operations of $13M and 330,000 international member organization including 130-employee international office and five employees in Switzerland.
