system engineering that will utilize my diagnostic and analytical

skills to their potential.

SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE

Ms. Murphy-Smith is a Principal Consultant with Keane Federal Systems,

Inc., with 14 years of experience in software maintenance,

acquisition, and system administration for the Department of Defense

(DoD). She has extensive experience in networking and integrating

disparate types of equipment (SUN, PC, DEC), and is excellent at

diagnosing and solving system and network performance problems,

particularly e-mail problems. Ms. Murphy-Smith was also a lead

auditor for the DoD Year 2000 Independent Verification and

Validation (IV&V) audits that helped ensure that essential DoD systems

continued functioning correctly through the rollover to 2000. She

currently performs network and system monitoring and analysis for a

DoD client using common UNIX performance monitoring tools and the

Aurora Software utility SarCheck, and created the shell scripts and

procedures to convert e-mail formats for the organizational-wide

transition from UNIX to NT. Ms. Murphy-Smith also has experience in

team leadership and first-level management, and currently leads a team

of four consultants.

Senior auditor on the DoD Year 2000 (Y2K) Testing Advisory Support

Contract (TASC).

* One of the first consultants hired for this assignment

* Helped establish the process for auditing DoD systems for Y2K

compliance

* Co-wrote guiding procedural documents for this process

* Briefed procedure and documentation to DoD client

* Briefed audit process to new team members as they were hired

* Participated in 11 of the 32 Level 1 audits completed between

September 1998 and November 1999; personally led 8 of them

interfaces--including many software languages and product types never

before personally used or even seen--for Y2K compliance;

* Worked a wide variety of calls as a Tier 2 helpdesk technician,

working equally well on SUNs and PCs

* Installed eXceed, a Windows-based tool that allows X-window displays

on a PC running Microsoft Windows, for several organizations; saved

countless hours for developers and maintainers who used to travel

extensively between operational and development areas

* Agency-wide recognized expert in installation and maintenance of

Microsoft Mail and the interaction of Microsoft Mail and UNIX sendmail

* Organizational webmaster and NNTP server administrator

* Taught Microsoft products (Windows, Word, PowerPoint) in formal DoD

training facility

April 1989-December 1991Test Manager and Software Support Representative for a major data

processing system acquisition.

* Read and edited documentation

* Witnessed and performed system testing

* Helped define requirements for follow-on effort

* Coordinated the cross-directorate and cross-organization acceptance

of the System Acquisition Plan after two years of internal political

bickering had delayed its acceptance

August 1986-April 1989

Programmer for a very large (300,000 lines of code) IBM Assembly

language data archiving and accounting system.

* Fixed several accounting and screen display problems that had been

occurring since system installation

* Wrote assembly code for a completely new version of the main data
