Testing of the Vocal Point Voice Internet Browser software and its components
(ASR, TTS, CTI), which provide conversion of the Web content into voice
services without extensive voice application development efforts. Some of the
responsibilities were:
Senior QA Engineer:
Compiling, Installing, configuring the software on its early stages and
getting the Voice Internet Browser system ready for testing (Solaris, Linux,
NT).
Troubleshooting the system components, such as TTS, ASR, CTI and Voice
Internet Browser servers, fixing configuration issues.
Writing and modifying test utilities, monitoring processes scripts,
logs examine utilities, automatic test generation scripts, cookie testing and
cookie-redirection pages, retrieving HTTP header utility and other programs and
scripts using Unix shell scripting, Perl, Java.
Modifying and optimizing component unit testing programs (Voice
Internet Browser system emulator) for load testing and scenario testing as well
as white box testing of specific Voice system features, APIs and components
using Java and C++.
Developing custom Voice JavaScript API test scripts, testing DOM level
objects, properties, events and attributes.
Setting up Proxies and Redirection proxies, recompiling and configuring
Apache web server with custom modules, installing and configuring Jserv,
updating Perl installation with necessary packages from CPAN.
Creating HTML and JavaScript regression file collections (test beds)
based on W3C standards as well as custom Voice JavaScript APIs.
Extensively testing Voice Internet Browser covering most of TCP/IP
layers.
