Cockrell School of Engineering " Women in Engineering Program " About WEP
Tricia BerryDirector
Tricia Berry, Director of the Women in Engineering Program (WEP) at The University of
Texas at Austin, is responsible for leading the efforts on recruitment and retention of
women in the Cockrell School of Engineering. She concurrently serves as Director of the
Texas Girls Collaborative Project, connecting Texas organizations, companies and
individuals working to advance gender equity in science, technology, engineering and math
fields in coordination with the National Girls Collaborative Project. Berry is also
Executive Vice President of 825 Basics, LLC, providing knowledge and tools to help
employees enhance their workplace and career success, and co-author of the book Exceeds
Expectations: Take Control of Your Performance Review. She came to the Cockrell School of
Engineering as Director in July 1999 after six years at The Dow Chemical Company in
Freeport, Texas where she worked as a Process Engineer and a Product Development Engineer.
Berry received her BS Chemical Engineering degree from the University of Texas at Austin
in May 1993 and her MBA from the University of Houston Clear Lake in May 1999. Berry is
a Society of Women Engineers (SWE) Life Member and is currently serving on the SWE -
Assessing Women and Men in Engineering (AWE) Project Advisory Council. She has been a
member of the Women in Engineering ProActive Network (WEPAN) since 2001, most recently
serving on the WEPAN Board as President Elect, President and Past President from 2007-
2010.

Ana DisonSenior Program Coordinator
Ana Dison is a Senior Program Coordinator for Student Success in the Women in Engineering
Program and works will all current student programs. Ana earned her bachelor's degree from
The University of Texas at Austin in 1992 in Kinesiology and a master's degree in College
Student Services Administration from Oregon State University in 1994. After working for
two years at the University of Maryland in Recreation Services, Ana returned to the
University in 1996 and was Assistant Director in the Division of Recreational Sports,
coordinating Membership Services and Satellite Facilities. After joining the Cockrell
School in 2000, Ana served as an academic advisor in the Student Affairs Office for six
years, advising thousands of students and coordinating a wide variety of student programs.
Additionally, she served as the degree evaluator for the Cockrell School for four years.
Ana has served on many committee across campus, was President of the Academic Counselor's
Association and served for three years in the inaugural Staff Council. In 2011, Ana
received the Cockrell School of Engineering Staff Excellence Award. After serving 20 years
as a high school volleyball official in the central Texas area, Ana recently retired from
the Texas Association of Sports Officials. She continues to be actively involved by
evaluating officials for the Chapter.

Didey Muniz
Recruitment and Outreach Program Coordinator
Didey is the outreach program coordinator. While in high school, she became interested in
engineering after attending a week-long residential camp at The University of Texas at
Austin. She decided to major in Mechanical Engineering at the university and became
immediately involved with WEP's future student outreach efforts. During her freshman year
in college, she was a program assistant for WEP's summer camp, Careers in Engineering for
Women (CEW), for middle school students. Didey continued working for WEP the rest of her
college career. She helped develop curriculum for WEP's outreach events, as well as their
Web site, Engineering is COOL. Didey graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from
The University of Texas at Austin in 2004 and joined WEP full-time in 2006.

Amy Caillavet
Program Coordinator & Office Manager
Amy Caillavet is a Program Coordinator in the Women in Engineering Program. Amy comes to
us from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas where she served for two years as an Academic
Advisor in the College of Engineering, earning a 2010 nomination for University Staff
Advisor of the Year. Amy earned her bachelor s degree from Loyola University Chicago in
2006, majoring in Communication with a minor in Graphic Design. She joined the University
of Texas at Austin in 2011, and looks forward to combining her prior experience as an
Engineering advisor with her desire to support the development of students within the
Cockrell School.

Statistics on Women in Engineering
Enrollment at the Cockrell School averages 22 percent women at the undergraduate level
and 20 percent women at the graduate level. An average of 24 percent of the undergraduate
engineering degrees awarded are earned by women. Additional statistics are available on
enrollment by classification and major.
