Elite Pressure Washing and Concrete Restoration Burlington, Wisconsin

Owner

I originally started this company a year ago.

Elite Concrete pressure washing and restoration performs concrete and wood restoration

services, specializing in decorative concrete both interior and exterior, drive ways, patios, sidewalks -

basically any concrete surface around the home or business. It was formed as an alternative to costlier

complete tear out and rebuild, and to show customers that concrete can have form and not just

function. Concrete can be etched and stained to create works of art, made to look like brick, or marble,

or a customers own design can be placed on the concrete canvas. Grey concrete is no longer the norm, with an array

of colors and our own artist the customer can have art on concrete surfaces like no other.

Services

Over the last 12 months I have been prototyping the concrete restoration and decorative concrete concept by working as a freelance independent consultant with other concrete contractors.

They sought my skills for decorative concrete projects because they know of my talent for artistic designs and high quality finished products. Other companies take significantly more time to produce a similar product because they must take the design to a printer to have it enlarged to customer specification then have a template created. This adds up to delay and increased price for the customer. The technique we use is to free hand draw the customers design onto the concrete then etch the drawing. This technique is faster and allows for customized design tailored to their requirements. As a service business, all services are performed at the customers premises either on existing concrete or installing new concrete to customer specification.

Service features

1. Pressure washing existing concrete and wood.

2. Concrete acid staining and design

3. Restoration of existing concrete and wood.

Unique selling proposition (USP)

1. Using latest industry products

2. Trained in their proper installation to ensure a quality job

3. 10 years industry experience with the ability to fix other contractors mistakes

September 2009 to March 2012

Creative Concrete Salem, Wisconsin

Foreman/ Cement Finisher

I originally left "Westosha Concrete" to join their team at this company because they offered higher pay and better benefits.

Basically most of what my job description was at "Westosha Concrete" was also the same here. Successfully managed a team of 5-6 English- and Spanish-speaking work crew for three years. Coordinated pour procedures and techniques. Successfully completing job tasks that were ordered down for me and my crew to execute. Followed standards and procedures to maintain safe work environment. Maintained inventory for our main warehouse of tools, equipment and supplies. Managed work with little or mostly no supervision at all. Notified supervisors of faulty operations and defective materials. Also, informed supervisors when machines needed major service. I operated a wide variety of equipment including power saws, masonry saws, grinders, laser levels, forklifts, skid-steer tractors and basic hand tools. I accurately read, understood, and carried out written instructions. Attended monthly safety meetings to ensure machine operation safety and work procedure safety. Completed all projects and customer relations to company standards.

I left this company in March, 2012 to start my own company, "Elite Pressure Washing and Concrete Restoration".

June 1995 to June 2008

Cement Finisher/ machine operator/ framer/ foreman/ project design

Started out with this company as a laborer. Quickly moved up to framing the forms for projects and finishing the surface of the concrete. We specialized in mostly residential decorative concrete applications, and some commercial projects as well.

I accurately read, understood, and carried out written instructions and gained the confidence of my employer. Therefore, shortly after, I was then promoted to foreman. Directing and guiding project operations and techniques of about 3-4 employees.Completed all projects and operations to company standards. I also Communicated operational issues and changes to my employer on regular basis. Worked overtime when needed, including evenings and weekends, to respond to increase in demand for project deadlines. Performed preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles and company equipment, saving the company in repair costs. Maintained inventory for central warehouse of tools and supplies. I also had to communicate with customers and contractors on a daily basis. I answered questions for them and kept them informed of company operations and procedures.

November 2004 to April 2005

West Displays Chicago, Illinois

Union Carpenter Local 181

This was a fun job. In the winter months I would be laid-off from my employment at "Westosha Concrete" due to the seasonal weather. My friend introduced me to Ron West, owner of "West Displays".

My job detail there ranged greatly even though my main title states Union Carpenter. A general explanation of our company and what we did would be, that we designed and built displays for expo shows for McCormick Place located in Chicago. Sizes could range from a tool shed to the size of a house. Displays were made out of everything from wood to plastic to steel. I worked with a team of designers from start to finish, from drafting, then blueprinting, to finally constructing. This job allowed me to "push" my construction skills and knowledge of materials, tools, and techniques to the limit. I developed and executed layout and installation of electrical wiring and fixtures based on client request. This also included layout and installation of plumbing and appliances. Some clients would ship their merchandise they wanted to display in the booths unassembled. Therefore I had to accurately read blueprints and manuals to identify components and assemble the products. Some products I had to assemble included expensive "high-tech" equipment. One job I remember in particular would be the assembling of a hospital traction device that was used for spinal injuries. The client from New York was on a deadline and had no manual available with her, and the hired tech was delayed on a flight into Chicago. The show was starting in 1 hour and the clients company was on speaker phone, nervously guiding and directing me through the assembly of this $100,000 dollar machine. If I fail, the company would have lost a lot of money that they invested into this show. We had a Union electrician wire it to the power supply and I flipped the switch. Success! The owner of the major medical company couldn't thank me enough and I went on to my next project. But, it's examples like this that I would like to express. I can follow directions, execute the task successfully, and have versatile knowledge of tools and skills that can accomplish a wide range of tasks, or goals. From building materials in your warehouse, to the tools that build them.

Education and Training

1997 Westosha Central High Paddock Lake, Wisconsin

High School Diploma

I actually graduated early. I was working with "Westosha Concrete" at the time in the summer months while out of High School. Our school had a program for students who could get their diploma early. I took a test at our local Gateway Collage to "tap out" of High School early. I passed with flying colors and received my diploma. Getting a "jump start" on my work career earlier than most.
