REPRESENTATIVE CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
Managed teams of up to 10 new and experienced engineers in power generation facilities projects - from initial design through all phases of execution and completion.
Designed 31 power boilers ranging in capacity from 150 MW to 1300 MW firing natural gas, fuel oil, and coal. Redesigned 55 existing boilers. Specified, directed and implemented functional performance and emissions test procedures and programs.
Started-up five 150 MW gas- and oil-fired boilers and trained thirty operators on $71 million project in Saudi Arabia. Coordinated personnel, materials and equipment and interfaced with other suppliers.
Designed training course on ASME efficiency testing, wrote manual, and instructed over 300 Utility and EPC Engineer personnel.
Managed major multi-year pulverizer upgrade project, completing on time and under budget.
Provided contract management support, field inspections, quality control, and contract interface with construction crews, as needed, for major construction projects.
Sized and specified all utilities for a $250 million greenfield fertilizer plant.
Performed inspection, and provided detailed description of refinery piping for a Sun Oil Co. refinery process modification project in Puerto Rico, allowing prioritization of work to complete the project expeditiously.
Designed and implemented change-out of valves for anhydrous ammonia injection system for NOx control on Siemens 501G combustion turbine and heat recovery steam generator, eliminating ammonia leakage.
Audited power systems equipment records and identified repairs and replacements that averted downtime on a 56 unit power generation system with potential daily revenue losses of $100 thousand to $4 million.
Solved enclosure side wall tube failure problems for nine duplicate boilers on Florida Power & Light system, preventing unscheduled outages costing $2 million/day/boiler.
Locate customers for and negotiate installation of infiniRel PowerBrain technology at manure to biogas/electric power generation sites to improve plant output by up to 14%.
Reviewed and revised or rewrote departmental procedures (for Raytheon). The procedures encompassed procedure preparation and control, management reviews, accountability to drawing, and engineering calculations preparation and documentation.
