ORACLE PROJECT (JUNE-2001 - AUGUST-2001)

Data Architect (Extract, Transformation and Load) performed the data extraction from Oracle Applications 10.7 to Data warehouse using ETL tool OWB (Oracle Warehouse Builder) at ADT Systems, Installation of Enterprise Data Warehouse on Oracle Apps 10.7 and preparation of EDW instance. Study and documenting the Oracle Applications purging programs for different modules.?

ORACLE PROJECT (MAR-2001 - MAY-2001)

Lead GE Power Systems. Reviewed the existing Data Warehouse system for data integration and performance issues. The source system Oracle Apps for Data Warehouse was researched to correct the data issues, which were causing problems for Data Warehouse incremental loads. A numerous suggestions were made to tune the existing ETL load strategy, which has been taking longer to complete.? The PO export program Oracle Apps side was also bench marked for performance issues.

Lead Oracle Internal Project for ClickStream Data Mart solution.? Configured Oracle 8.1.7 database and 9iAs to run the Discoverer Reports. Modified the pre-existing data model and incorporated changes into OWB ETL tool. Setup discoverer reports in Oracle Portal.

ORACLE PROJECT (NOV-2000FEB-2001)

Lead ETL at Ahold USA Corp. reviewed the existing terabyte Data Warehouse system (AIX based) running on OPS for degraded performance from the ETL standpoint.? The ETL strategy was rearranged to load 5.5 millions of daily data load efficiently. Suggested to create bit-mapped indexes and rewrite the queries to use partition elimination to improve the long running queries against big fact table/s (500 million records). The ETL loads were also tuned to achieve degree of parallel effectively, hints to enforce indexes etc.

In the capacity of lead Data Architect / Data Modeler designed Oracle 8.1.6 relational Data Warehouse schema to replicate legacy reporting system SQL Server database using Erwin Data Modeling tool for EMC Corp. Designed Customer Service Data Model (Star Schema) using Erwin Data Modeling Tool for corporate reporting. Helped user to write Brio queries. Designed functional specifications for the Brio report users extracting data from Oracle Applications. Designed and developed ETL (Extract Transformation and Load) loads using Informatica ETL Tool to extract the data from Oracle Applications to Data Warehouse. Written ETL programs in PL/SQL to populate part/serial transactions from different Oracle Applications modules to Data Warehouse. Developed other Informatica mappings to feed the reporting database from the staging database. Involved in heavy Data conversion from legacy system databases to oracle database.

ETL Architect Data Warehouse studied the Data Warehouse requirements. Designed data loads using Consteller ETL Tool and PL/SQL programs from legacy systems and Oracle Application modules. Laid out data conversion database schema. Built Customer ODS database using Oracle Designer 2.1. Designed the nightly, weekly, monthly and yearly loads to feed the Data Warehouse for Oracle Discoverer/Oracle Reports reporting system on HP-UX. Also supported the post implementation phase of the project for six months. Worked on performance tuning and query optimization to speed up the Data warehouse load process.?

Later worked as Data Warehouse DBA

As Oracle DBA/Team Lead was responsible for database planning, tuning, backup, recovery, load balancing, installation and upgrades, configuration of database servers, and capacity planning. Also responsible for Administration, development and building data mart database, physical and logical database design.
