Bagging operation-bag finished products as per MPI (Manufacturing Process Instruction) and customer satisfaction. Check cassettes for possible defects like cracks, labels should match with the barcode, check for broken disks inside the cassettes and any other fragments or contaminations, wand barcode, print a new shipping label.
Sort operation- operates Automated Group Sorter, sort disks with defects from the good one. Load and unload cassettes, wand barcode, change the label to new operation.
Test conveyor operation -load & unload cassettes to conveyor for glide and magnetic testing. After test, wand barcode to make new label. Visually inspect the cassettes for broken disks after test.
UV cure operation (2007) - accelerates the bonding of the lubricant to the disk carbon layer. Use FTIR (Fourier Transform Infra Red) to get the lube measurements according to MPI (Manufacturing Process Instruction) or PCN (Process Change Notice). Make adjustments if needed to meet the process specification.
Inspection- discarded and rejected products that did not meet specifications. Identified and helped resolve production problems such as contamination. Recommended corrective actions to minimize rate of product defects. Recorded defects and coordinated issue resolution with the previous operation, DFA (Defect and Failure Analysis) and Process Technician or Manager.
Test Operation-operates Turbo Vixen for glide and magnetic testing. Monitor heads for better test performance, increasing yields. Use MESA (Manufacturing Equipment System Analysis) to interpret and analyze data.
