Joined Quality Industrial Mfg. Co., a $1Million specialty machining facility, to modernize and expand the business with
future equity participation. Due to a significant reliance on the automotive industry, the business model was redirected to cost
cutting and merger/sale strategies.
Implemented a Computerized Business system that provided historical financial and production data. Quoting
accuracy became more consistent with production capabilities, direct labor as a percent of sales was reduced by
16%. Instituted a budgeting process that resulted in an 11% overhead expense reduction. Allocation guidelines were
defined to reflect actual job costs.
Re-organized plant machine layout consistent with cellular manufacturing principles resulting in a 99% initial order
completion rate.

Manufacturing Manager
Directed all production related operations including strategic planning, budgeting and production scheduling for a 200
employee 5 day 24 hour $48 Million insulated glass JIT manufacturing facility. Utilized Lean principles as a flexible,
disciplined business system to enhance safety, productivity, quality and customer satisfaction. Facilitated the movement from
an entrepreneurial style organization to one more structured with data driven management methods.
Developed and implemented metrics to monitor, analyze and control JIT productivity and quality data resulting in
improved cost, quality and delivery. Over a 3-year period, sales expanded 45% while total direct labor hours
decreased 0.9% and rejected units declined by 52%.
Implemented high performance work teams through employee empowerment, setting realistic expectations and
accountability for results. Supervisor turnover decreased 26%.
Implemented Lean Manufacturing techniques, reducing backorders 38% and increasing shipping accuracy 56%.

Full profit and loss accountability for a corporation of over 138 manufacturing, marketing/sales, engineering and service
professionals with $25 Million in sales of software and capital equipment systems for the Window and Door Industry. Joined
Glass Equipment Development, Inc. (GED) during a time of precipitous growth as Controller in 1992; thereafter was
promoted to General Manager and initiated a complete company turnaround.
Grew GED from $12 to $25 Million in sales (16% compounded annual growth rate) to become the North American
market share leader, exceeding long range sales and profitability goals.
Promoted business planning strategies resulting in the definition, development and introduction of several successful
and innovative new products increasing revenue by $4.3 Million.
Led GED in achieving a world class manufacturing status through ISO 9001 Certification, cellular manufacturing,
flexible manufacturing systems, continuous improvement programs, JIT, MRP and concurrent engineering, resulting
in a 274% growth in operating income, a 98% on time delivery performance, halving the cost of quality and
increasing gross profit by 12%.
Created a new off-site industry leading Customer Service and Software Development Division. Within 2 years
revenues grew by over $2.2 Million and the customer satisfaction index doubled.
Spearheaded a $6 Million start-up of a new Fabrication and Machining Division employing state of the art CNC

Instrumental in reducing break even sales from $950 to $600 Thousand through asset redeployment and cost
reduction. Pricing strategies were developed to build volume. Print demand was insufficient to compensate for lost
revenue

A $250 Million non-ferrous metal trading and processing company. Responsible for corporate operational and financial
policy development and implementation, encompassing a corporate office, manufacturing division and three sales offices.
Created business strategies resulting in the definition, development and implementation of a custom financially
integrated computer business system for non-ferrous metals hedging, trading and processing.
